Mostly agree but, I wouldn't complain about it because that's what makes the richness of the tour. At the end of the day professional sports exists because of entertainment. I don't wish for literally EVERY pro athlete to be calm mature and respectful. I wouldn't mind if all the people working in politics were like this though.

been having a tough streak lately. he has issues when something is not going right. he seems to just give up. like being up against Paul at last year's US Open and this year's Aus Open against Griekspoor. needs to get better mentally. both him and Karatsev (tho he's coming back after that horrific knee injury)

It is hard to explain in english the reason Moutet found a part of roman public - young guys - to his side. They see in Moutet the rebel player, always fighting against all good manners and good rules, not correct and always ready to create problems. And they like him for this reason. They feel a social and (sub-) cultural connection with the french player, not so french but really italian, somehow. In any case he won a great match against a great player. On hard surface i guess Safiu would probably beat CM. Greetings from Rome Italy

I usually find the Italian crowd very polite and respectful. But I am surprised they like Moutet. I am French myself and often feel exasperated with his behavior. I also play tennis though, so I find his matches entertaining and actually like to watch him.

I watched the match live and although it was a unique atmosphere, like a football game at times, i felt sorry for Safiullin. Playing with the crowd cheering loudly when you make a mistake must be very demoralising. And very hard to concentrate/serve right after.

Say what you like about the behaviour, but the tennis speaks for itself. To be that small in stature on the pro tennis tour and win speaks to amazing athleticism and hand skills. The Moutet kick serve is a think of beauty.

Everyone is going to negatively comment about moutet’s actions as a tennis player and the fact that he can loose his cool on court sometimes. Of course, these same people will go and praise kyrgios for being an inspiration to young kids and all of that. How can the perception of two players who are so similar be so different?
