But the internet is a brutal place - if they never switched it up and sang the song the same way night after night, people would complain that they are still singing the same song that went viral years ago and don't have anything else to offer.

Im not sure I like this version of this song. They tried to reinvent a perfect song...... It didn't work.
They made this song 22 years ago, and it puts a nice/funny spin on normal Christmas songs. It's their brand, and it's been their brand.
