    Indeed. When I study our history I am left in awe at the achievements of our Scholars and the Ummah at large. They not only excelled in the world of academia within Islam but also mastered fields like medicine, architecture and mathematics and were the light of guidance for the entire world. Islam was at its peak when we accepted modernity within the confines of the Sharia and didn't hinder progress by becoming more strict than the religion itself!
    Today we Muslims just love to live off our legacy, heritage & hard work of the past and talk about how glorified the "Golden Age" of Islam used to be. It's high-time we followed in their footsteps and started to re-create that same Golden Age in the 21st century and produce Scholars and non-Scholars that specialise in all areas of academia & social work that benefits mankind as a whole.
    Jazak Allah khayr for this inspiring talk ya Shaykh!

      No he is not, this man wants "ISLAM SUITS YOUR MODERN LIFE NOT YOUR MODERN LIFE SUITS TO ISLAM." He is just trying to make everyone accept his opinions by quoting a story about the companions of Rasulullah. Listen to his words carefully, HE IS TRYING TO MAKE YOU ACCEPT THAT *MANKIND LAWS ARE SUPERIOR THAN ALLAH LAWS IN THE QURAN*. YEAH I HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU ENTER YOUR OWN GRAVE. GOODLUCK

This man was secular western educated, he lacks the very basics of his seen. +SuperJunction Yes.. the dawah man gives interesting premise at the beginning and some of what he says could be true, but I feel some of his statements are too assumptive/he took conclusion too early/not really looking at the context, for example when he bring out "Yasir Qadhi having doubts". I watched the dawah man's video first before watching this, but when I watch this video my suspicion of the dawah man taking things out of context/being too quick to judge is confirmed.

    Dr. Qadhi,
    I benafited from, and enjoyed listening to this lecture. However, in the questions you said that there is not single reputable scholar who says that voting is shirk. The definiteness of your tone I found offensive. Dr. Israr Ahmed of Pakistan who is respected, trusted, and loved by Muslims all over the Indian subcontinent, and all over the world was of the opinion that voting is shirk. The basic idea being that the act of voting acknowledges the Sovereignty of the people, and affirms the perpetuation of a system in which the Soveirgnty of Allah (sbt) is being denied. I would love to hear your perspective on this, Dr. Israr's thought in general (in the line of Iqbal but not blindly), and lastly Tanzeem-e-Islami as an organization.
    Sincerely,
    Omar Ali
    p.s. To clarify. It was not his "motif" that the act of voting is kafr, but that voting in it's asl is an act of shirk. People, who do an action of shirk unbeknownst are not be labelled a kafr. Further, these Muslims who are of a different understanding, and vote based upon their own understanding are not kaffir either.

    I think while christianity cope with the problem of their theology by devising secularism, Islamic society facing the opposite problem. This problem is when people separating Islamic knowledge and natural knowledge, thinking that it's actually different. I think, in one degree, we need to agree that those knowledgeful in natural knowledge is also an ulama and needs to do jihad on their field.

    America, France, Russia are culturally very different. Just hang out with 50 people from each of those countries and you will see a commonality between their approach to problems, what they enjoy, etc. etc. etc. Cultural values are layered and inspired by history, climate, topography, and yes beliefs. The opportunities available to people in each of these countries are completely connected to the value, philosophy, and the LAWS that are born out of those values. Any anthropologist understands this. Also, secularism is a PROTECTION for people from ALL faiths. This may have come from conflicts between different Christian beliefs, but several of the founders of the U.S. were not religious and understood that LAWS based on what is good for ALL people (slaves and women excluded unfortunately) should not be connected to any ONE religion. It is so strange to me that people move to Western countries, which are set up to be able to CHANGE and then they don't want to be flexible. The reasons they move to these countries is that they benefit from the results of the culture's ability to CHANGE and be flexible. People need to wake up.

    Í'll give you one value. British and american value will say any place of worship can be built on the land controlled by the british and american values. In islamic chaphiate u will be told non-muslims can't build their place of worhsip (very aparthedic and religionist of islam and chaliphate). British value will say not to cut off the hands and feet of a person who commits a crime. Not to stone to death a person who commits adultery. Not to kill a gay person. British value woman can walk outisde on her own will she deosn't need a mans permision; if a woman gets raped she doesn't need witnesses etc etc. I can go on for ever. And british values says anyone can leave a religion and the caliphate will kill a muslim leavein islam. So yeah no place will say our values are bad because being inhuman/aparthedic/cruel/unjust towards non-muslim and women and gay people is very normal in islamic religion.

    • @MarufSajjad
      @MarufSajjad 8 лет назад +3

      Then where did people of other religion pray during the caliphate? There are two points to be noted here. 1. Your value SAYS that it is ALLOWED to build mosques (or any religious place of worship) but then can you honestly say Muslims are ALLOWED to build mosques without any obstacle, scrutiny? And then, people of our generation, haven't yet seen a Caliphate. They are, by and large, know the THEORY of Caliphate, they are yet to see the practical. The point I am trying to make is, whatever your values are, they are not written on stone and must always be obeyed in practice. Yet again, the VALUE you quoted is ONE of the opinions, it is NOT an agreed upon one. And then again, you want to believe Islam is barbaric then go ahead, no one is stoping you, we, a direct citizen of a country you colonialized have witnessed enough of you so called values. Don't your values teach you to apologize?

    Yasir! Another false statement: "In Western history never have larger crowds gathered to oppose their own governments." WRONG! The anti-Iraq protests PALE in comparison to the anti-Vietnam protests... which by the way, DID make a difference in policy, although it took far too long. And the Iraq protests continue to influence US policy today: why do you think the US is so reticent about sending ground troops to fight ISIS? Because of public opinion.

    "How can the Ummah ever revive the great legacy of the past and return back to the conservative yet liberal heritage of our Scholars?"
    It wasn't Islamic "scholars" that were leading the ummah, it was the Islamic soldiers that were subverting scholars (who would rather use their minds, then their muscles and swords, unlike Islam), and once the Islamic "scholar" soldier would come in and conquer a land, the people who wanted to live (and didn't care what "god" happened to be in control of the land, they just wanted to study science) would "revert", change their names, and then you get "muslim" scholars who "discovered" everything - when the truth is all that Islam ever discovered is what they CONQUERED!
    And my proof is the idiotic imam's who are professing that the earth is stationary and the sun revolves around the earth, "because of airplanes"!!

      Your knowledge of Islam would display that one of the beauties of this religion is that it does not change. Islamic reformation in regards to the changing of scripture/ discarding of laws cannot happen. And many Muslim scholars have addressed this.

    Yasir Qadhi is a fine orator and credentialed scholar. ..His advice supports muslim integration in Western countries NOT worldwide muslim issues.This implies that he believes in the underlying mechanism and its ability to improve muslim lives in those countries.
    Thus obeying legalities is extremely important as is contributing to those societies. Especially when one enjoys many benefits of those societies. As well working with non muslim specialists ,education ,open mindedness and balancing with the theological aspects.
    Critics will contend that the Western system does not allow for pluralistic societies ie voting as a minority group wont improve ones lives. Neither are Western leaders held accountable eg Bush and Blair .Similarly the ICC promotes colonialism and imperialism and does not prosecute U.K,U.S,French leaders,etc. Then the question of the IMF and its flaws,the interest based system which is directly against Islam.NATO and its edicts,etc. As well living in a non Caliphate system means that the economic,social,governance,legal,education policy and foreign policy systems are in direct contrast to the Islamic ones. He is also endorsed by RAND "Islamic expert" Cheryl Bernard as a scholar of promise.Yasir has many critics.
    Perhaps ,one should understand that his view is an isolationist view rather than an expansionary one. He is looking to transfer his brand of "enlightened Islam" to a small audience of about 5% of muslims worldwide living in Western countries. He does not have the vision,nor does he proclaim to, of solving muslim problems worldwide.

    • @MuhammadAbdullah-rl5mq
      @MuhammadAbdullah-rl5mq 5 лет назад

      mohammad Moosa. what is your vision. he is standing like a man offering a solution. where does his solution contridict with quran and hadith, you have to tell us specifically instead of your weightless slogans. it is these weightless slogans that cause a rift and fitna between muslims. easy to critise like an old lady rather than stand up like a man and offer a solution.

Brothers and Sisters inshallah do research from those who are learned by the learned and not by someone who learnt his deen by the murderer of millions of muslims, Tony Blair
