I totally agree with you about your point - If I'm wrong only doing CI, I can fill in later with grammar and it will be a lot easier. That only makes sense to me. That's how I learned my native language. Mom & Dad taught me grammar through example. I'll get it. :)
Congrats on 1000 hours of CI. Don't worry about speaking yet. I am at 1260 hours and still not speaking yet. I may try speaking at 1500 hours, we will see. Thank you for the info about the Crosstalk WhatsApp. - Dave
Even if you had 5000 hours of input, you won't get better at speaking until you do it. It's an entirely different process. That's why there are a lot of people that can understand but not speak a language. This has been my experience, but I'm just random dude in a comment section so....
I can't tell if you are disagreeing with something I never said or you are just agreeing with something I casually mentioned. Glad you are here either way. You can find me on the pinned whatsapp group and say hello anytime.
@@Alex-Learns-Spanish just the idea of waiting x amount of hours before speaking. Do it whenever you feel comfortable, but no matter when you start, it's going to be difficult at first.
@@theymademepickaname1248 got it, yes! That is what I am doing. I hoped to do it sooner but my grammar is really suffering right now so I am waiting a bit longer. Listening is not hard anymore and crosstalk is actually easy so it is just barely a sacrifice to wait. I am not afraid to speak or anything either.
@@Alex-Learns-Spanish sorry to monopolize this comment section. I'm not accusing you of doing this, but some CI enthusiasts push this idea that once you reach a certain level of input, you will magically be able to speak.
@@theymademepickaname1248 You can monopolize all you want. I am not exactly a big channel LOL. Yes agreed. Most people have to work at it, I have seen only one person who really just started naturally but he was very dedicated and he had a few other advantages that most people don't.

For sure. And thanks for the comment. Do you want to do an interview?
@@Alex-Learns-Spanish Interview - sure, as long as I don't have to speak in Spanish!
@@tinynhhouse5467 I will reach out on whats app tomorrow. THe day got away from me.
