    Truly a wonderful and magnificent piece of artistic symphony, brings orchestral relief to my depression 😊

    This version was performed by the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, conductor if I remember correctly Sergei Durygin or Konstantin Petrovich. It’s beautiful.

      @@Shogun1988531 Yep Chief Conductor of the Band. Composed a few waltzes and a concert march. I hope he or someone else fills the void left by the death of Valery Khalilov.

      @@triumphalmarch14 I totally agree. Khalilov was such a great loss for military music, together with all the great musicians who died together with him. I especially like his Alexander March, but he composed many great pieces. Another conductor I also really like is Alexei Karabanov, although I don't know if he also composes.

      @triumphalmarch14 Год назад +3

      @@Shogun1988531 I might vaguely recall that Alexei is a conductor of the Admiralty Band? My favorite Khalilov marches have to be ‘Youth’ ‘Cadet’ & ‘Kant’. ‘Alexander’ is dedicated to his brother Alexander Khalilov and was originally titled ‘Epaulette’. Before he died he was writing a march dedicated to the Georgia Marching Redcoat Band called ‘The Redcoat March’. If he was still around we could have got many new compositions and he could have been the 21st century Chernetsky but no. A disgrace.

      Слава России!, мой дорогой друг. К сожалению, мы никогда не слышали оригинальную версию этого марша, записанную в Сборнике маршей Российской Императорской Армии (1809 г. и далее) музыкальным руководителем Российской Императорской Гвардии Антоном Дерфельдтом (марш D I, 58). Почему нет?

"Rare" would have been the original version recorded according to the scores as published by Anton Derfeldt Senior in his Collection of Russian Imperial Marches (1809ff.), played on contemporary instruments.
