Greetings experts... I would like to know, these large companies that collect leaves, why do they do it? Do they sell them to incinerators to produce electricity? Do they use them to make compost? How do they collect money or who pays them???
It's great your city does this. That truck is a very efficient beast. Does it get used for other tasks? Say, snow? I my city vacc trucks are used to clear silt from storm water pits etc. We don't have a snow season.
Snow gets plowed & tall banks can be hard to see around so some citie$ ( like Montreal..) will blow it into dump trucks & melt it. Some neat video on that here on YT; different machinery. I'm originally from the Buffalo, NY area which is infamous for its brutal winters. Delivered papers during 'Blizzard of '77' but last year was much worse; 33 deaths I believe:( One guy saved several stranded people by getting them into a Cheektowaga school; Bills* got him Super Bowl tix:)! * Waitin' Till Next Year ( AGAIN..)
Does the 'suction' part have a separate engine or does it it drive off a PTO off of the Gearbox, - and does it have any form of filter whereby it can get rid of (some, or all) of the excess water it must suck up with wet leaves.
@@TYR-RailFan Thank- you for the reply. - With a suction pipe of that diameter I thought it would probably have one, but I couldn't hear it so that's why I was curious.
WE HAVE MORE HANDY WAY. A CAR WITH A THE VACUM MOUTH ON THE FRONT. AND AT ONE SITE OF IT. AND AND A FEW WEELS. WHO PUTTIN EVERYTHING TO THE MOUTHS TO. SO YOU CAN WORK WAY FASTER.
Wow the citizens have been trained well. This was much more labor intensive when I followed the truck.

Absolute Incredible Suction Power. Picks Up Anything, & Everything.
Your mom would still break it though
Looks like a carefully made pile. Usually there are branches, pumpkins and potted plants. And dog doo.

Didn't know this beast was available.
I know it’s crazy
The leaf blower/vacuum from Chuggington!
Had those leaves not been wet, they would have vacuumed up like sawdust on glass!
Good lord could that be any more sloppy? Did they dredge that out of a swamp? That poor loader
