  • We continue with this tenth phase, a phase distinguished by the gradual conversion to the "large head, colored and not circled," form of all notes from $5 to $100, and a continued frequent change of series year, and the use of no letters after it as a suffix, other than "A," and that only occasionally, and the Treasury officer signatures of Marin, Cabral, and then Rios, as Treasurers, and of Snow, Paulson, and then Geithner, as Secretaries of the Treasury. This era introduces the third phase of security changes. Introducing the $100 bill into the third security phase proved to be problematic; the Series 2009 was actually released subsequent to the Series 2009 A for reasons discussed in the video.
