BESTie was one of my all time favorites! I was a huge fan of EXID when they debuted and their entire career and was so happy to see 3 of the former members debut with a concept they wanted. “Excuse Me” has to probably be my favorite because it’s just perfectly executed. The dance was there. The vocals we could never. It was just perfection. And Yu Ji is probably my favorite in the group, and probably one of my all time favorite KPOP leaders and visuals.
So many labels dropped the ball regarding Uji. They could of pushed her as a solo act or insert her into one of their groups. She could fit in anywhere. I miss seeing her smile and performance. :(
So hard to pick a favorite bestie member cause it really felt like they were a team that naturaly enjoyed what they were doing. Thank you for digging around and bringing the reason for the two members leaving the group into the light.
Such wasted potential. God I love these girls! No one took the chance to push them even more, now we can all just wonder how big they would have gotten had that happened.
I feel like if they were here still .. they would have been going head to head with mamamoo , sistar, AOA and red velvet that would have been a good queendom episode fr
bestie have the songs most i love in kpop, really i love this group but i no rooting for they whem they still as a group, but now i enjoy all songs wiyh my hearth and i relly miss bestie
thank you so much for this video ! i just found BESTie's discography on spotify and i really appreciate your coverage of the group's time in the industry. i love finding older artists and artists i didn't know of before so this video essay was really helpful !! 💜
I'm a latecomer to Kpop, in 2018. Liked EXID, so checked back to their start, and discovered 3 left after debut, and became 3 parts of the 4 girl group BESTie. "Love Options" is now my current favourite Kpop tune . . . seriously ! It's so catchy !
That’s too sad how it ended. I can’t believe the management team at this company made zero dollars. It seems it’s the women chasing their dreams that take on most of the financial risk. I liked Excuse Me the best. I love it when pop music manages to work in a saxophone.
Thanks so much for this (and all your K-pop videos)! I’m a new fan and it’s great to get info presented clearly, and with love. Excuse Me is definitely on loop on my playlist ❤
I'm new to KPOP, it feels like most bands (even among the top ones) are short-lived. Whenever I discover a band, I see a video "What happened to [that band]", lol.
EXID's name is pronounced E - X - I - D - and there's more to that part of the story that should have been mentioned - specifically - the departure of Uji & HyeYeon & HeyRyeong - which the company (AB Ent) explained was due to the girls' focus on school or acting - the usual lie to deflect the blame from the company that would have issued from kpop fans as a consequence - when those 3 along with DaHye debuted as Bestie - there's was an uproar among the young and naive kpop fans - accusing those 3 of deserting EXID - this means that Bestie began with a chorus of haters - and it took a while for that to dissipate you might have mentioned that Bestie had 2 of the best singers in kpop - Uji and HyeYeon - - and since you only mention your favorites - you didn't mention my favorite of theirs - "I Need You" - that and "Thank You Very Much" are among my top favorite kpop songs
Yes, kpop fans are young and stupid. The original EXID was a joint venture between two companies. After the debut, problems arose between the companies and the venture was dissolved. Some members were signed to one company, some to the other. U.Ji, Hyeyeon, and Hyeryeong's company terminated their contracts and off they went. Later, Hyeryeong signed with YNB as an actress (she had been acting since childhood). She convinced YNB to form a girl group if she could recruit U.Ji and Hyeyeon. The rest you know. Hyeyeon explained all this history once in an interview. There must have been a legal complaint from a former company, because she told the false story in subsequent interviews.
@@MrKentaroMotoPI - i could never figure out why EXID would let their best singers go - and their most beautiful visual - now it makes sense - this is like what happened to Hello Venus - which cost them Yoo Ara
Hey towlhead, Bestie had a good vocalist, but their music and concept was beyond forgettable. That’s why they were ignored. Why don’t you just wash your hair rather than cover the dirt?
anyone here after transit love?

I hope they’re able to reunite with the EXID members and create a song just imagine how legendary that’ll be
Bestie and Spica is really my fav underrated group, tho.
it is sad that this group did not have as much exposure it is the only kpop group i liked
I jam so hard to their Excuse Me song! I even learned the choreo. Iconic song and iconic group
Excuse me was my favorite song back in high school :((
I LOVED this group. So many bangers. So little time.
bestie have the songs most i love in kpop, really i love this group but i no rooting for they whem they still as a group, but now i enjoy all songs wiyh my hearth and i relly miss bestie

I was disapointed they disband, they was so cool and uji was insane in vocals :x
Bestie uji was also supposed to debut with hyolyn sistar, jieun secret, and exid hani in a jyp group but the plan was cancelled
I vaguely recall Bestie. That might indicate a lack of marketing by their company.
i miss them sm love options was soty in my room

02:59 the fact they dance all in high heels, that's good, i couldn't at their place
Wait you missed one more song called “I Need You.”
They didn’t really disband as the group still has HyeYeon and HaeRyung even tho HyeYeon left the company but YuJi and DaHye left the group
🥰 keeep it uppp
Say less 😏💯🥰
Too much competition, especially the group Sistar.

as a consequence - when those 3 along with DaHye debuted as Bestie - there's was an uproar among the young and naive kpop fans - accusing those 3 of deserting EXID - this means that Bestie began with a chorus of haters - and it took a while for that to dissipate

@@johneyon5257 Yes, very similar situation. They never completely recovered from losing Ara.
