I recently took the plunge and got the Boss ME-90, but I had some questions for which I couldn't find answers before I got it. So I'm answering those in this vid!

UPDATE ON LOGIC/MAC COMPATIBILITY [ Logic 10.7.7 on Ventura 13.0]:
After running the driver installer and asked if I wanted to delete the driver, I clicked "yes" and the next time I went to record, Logic no longer recognized the ME-90. After reinstalling and not deleting, it seems to recognize the device, with some occasional weirdness. One of the ME90's features, when used as a recording interface, is that it gives the affected signal (including amp sims if enabled) through tracks 1/2 and the raw guitar signal as tracks 3/4. Sometimes, Logic will not record tracks 1&2 so I will record the raw signal and either reamp through the ME90 or use the Logic amp sims and FX.

My daughter and I just watched this (and your minneapolis video on your frontpage!) and it was really interesting! I came across a Boss pedal (silver one from the 80's?) several years ago and tested it and I thought it was amazing! It's good to see Boss is still making amazing products and the looping you were doing was incredible. If you get this in time we'll be on our vacation and wanted you to know you can come and get some fresh vegetables from our garden since we wont be able to get them- if you wanted some tomatoes or w.e is fine to help yourselves- I'm sure we will be watching more of these videos when we get back!
is it possible to change output device to pc connected speaker?
If u are using a DAW like Logic or FL Studio u can connect to your computer via USB and select the device as an input.
If u r not recording and just want to play thru the PC speakers, run the headphones out of the device into a line in connection on your comp. There is no Bluetooth out on the device
Which power amp pedal is a good choice to connect to this gear?
If u mean power supply there is a link in the description for what I've been using. Boss recommends their PSA 120s2
@@TinyNormous not really I’ll guess a multi effect pedal like this one needs to be powered up sound wise. Unless you connect it front of house but to you it together with a passive speaker you need a power amp pedal unless you connect it into normal amp or I’m completely wrong here?
@@tommywallberg you are right. I misunderstood. You can run into an amp or two if u want stereo or FoH. I am specifically using this so I don't have to lug amps around and plan on running to FoH.
If you are going to use amps, you can disable the amp sims on the ME90 so your tone is colored by the amp and not the on board amp sims. I used to really love Vox and Fender amps personally, but just use the amp sims into FoH or 🎧 now.
I also USB it into my Mac and use that to record or play along.

@@TinyNormous I was thinking of walrus power amp pedal or something similar which should power the me 90 up on stage or a Blackstar amper II which could be an overkill. Maybe just simple power amp pedal and the rest I could IQ and the tweak on the ME 90. For recording at home maybe a decent audio inter face would do but for gigging without a real heavy amp just a passive speaker even together with in front of house
