Mexican Navy Training Ship ARM CUAUHTÉMOC in London on 20 June 2023. ARM CUAUHTÉMOC was sailing upriver to West India Dock in London. She was accompanied by the tugs NIPASHORE and DEVOUT. The first time i saw this mexican vessel was when this ship visited my country Manila, Philippines wayback 2017 and was able to visit it again this 2024 when it visited my country this year.
Based from my research, its a mexican training vessel that sails around the world. It was built in Calayo shipyards in Bilbao Spain and was brought to Acapulco Mexico, the homebase of Mexican navy.
‘Tlatoani’ means emperor in Aztec. The ship was named after the Aztec Emperor, Cuauhtémoc. It’s also known as “El Caballero del Mar” or “The Gentleman of the Seas”. Viva México 🇲🇽 🫡
Yes - I think that is the largest one I have seen on a ship. I was hoping to film her arrive at West India Dock but there was a heavy police presence around the O2 in London and they were stopping people from accessing the Thames Path in the area that I wanted to go to. Not sure why...

So good to see on all levels, not least, all the very smart traditional dress of the sailors too. Another great video of one of the world's most wonderful waterways and the huge diversity of activities!
@@ThamesShips You are welcome. I take it was to show the Mexican Colors and Symbol. Just something for a nice culture exchange in a ceremony celebration. So, about the largest flag on a ship. I see similar, maybe half that size of the Mexican flag here in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
I have seen in a couple of places on social media that she is open to the public on Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00 but have not seen any official confirmation.
It was named after the last ruling Aztec emperor CUAUHTEMOC which was captured and killed by the spanish colonizer named Cortez during their spanish colonization in Mexico in the year 1525.
Well let's just say that we Mexicans have and see pride about our flag, by the way next year I'll be there like 4 to 5 months UK is a country that I see as a awesome place and I want to see what I can, also i want to pay a visit to the beautiful Belfast
