- I got a chance to visit the Bullwinkle's Family Restaurant in Wilsonville, Oregon. Here's all segments of the show and a quick tour of the restaurant and Family Fun Center. I absolutely love the Rocky and Bullwinkle animatronics and it was so great to see them again!
This version of Rocky is a bit different from the ones at other locations and I think he's cuter, though I wish AVG gave him all black pupils instead of blue eyes.
They're doing quite nicely! Looks like there's some air leaks and ,I wouldn't know for sure how bad it is (since I've never seen a perfect show) but, Bullwinkle isn't moving his head much and it seems they could use a bit more air. A little tlc would be nice but they're still doing very well! They're obviously maintained!
I actually like Rock's blue eyes, although I guess the black eye versions are more accurate to the cartoon. Also, thanks for uploading this. I've been obsessed with these guys for about two years now and I've been wondering how this show has been doing. They don't look too too bad. Also, I heard the audio for these guys were released in addition to the audio we got a while back. If anybody knows what songs we got in those audio files or if we have all the show audio, let me know.
Also, I curious how do they run their show here? Do you have to ask them to play it? Do they only play it on special occasions like birthday parties or for crazy Bullwinkle's fans? Or do they have a timer?
I like them too, but the spotlights wash the color out and make him look like he just has tiny black pupils. I wish they made the blue darker at least. The audio wasn't really released. I have the audio on my Google Drive, gave the link to a friend and it got spread around.
The show plays every 15 minutes or so in between music videos that play on the nearby tv.

I live close to this place and I remember the animatronics. I remember that the sound was super quiet and all the sounds of the movement could be heard. I also knew someone that worked there, and in like 2017, they said they were gonna destroy them. I was younger so I didn’t really knew what they meant, so it sucks that they’re gone. I wanted them to give them to me so bad but I didn’t know what they could and couldn’t do
I'm glad these guys are still around. Sadly the location I used to live a street down from became a Boomers. I remember how our showroom was set up. Not sure if all the Bullwinkle locations were the same, but the one in Fountain Valley, CA had a water fountain cat walk/stage that was semi in the middle of the showroom/dining room. It prevented kids from getting up on stage. The room was (still is) hexagonal in shape, had many tex avery characters on the walls and a few tvs playing bits from the show. I don't recall much what the animatronics exactly looked like since I never got a good vision of them up close. I just remember what the place looked like before it got transformed. It was a shame because I really wished they kept the fountain. :_:

I found a big hardback book about Rocky And Bullwinkle by Louis Chunovic at a thrift store the other day. Only paid $2.00. It was originally $50.00 new.

Kinda sounds like Frank Welker as the announcer that introduces the show. I think it might be him doing Bullwinkle's voice too. He has been doing cartoon voices for years.
That's because it is! He is such a legendary voice actor and comedian, providing the voices of so many beloved animated characters.
Not Bullwinkle; Bill Scott was still alive at that time, some of the very last times he recorded Bullwinkle before his untimely death.

Boris sounds like Frank Welker to me. Strange because Frank would later go on to play Bullwinkle in the Taco Bell ads, where he basically just uses the same voice he did for Dynomutt. Seriously, though, this thing is surreal. I've only ever read about it in a history of Jay Ward productions book (The Moose that Roared).
I STILL don’t understand why a bird is carrying Natasha and why Boris is just randomly under her haha. Although they characters still joke about how Boris has no feet.
I wish they turn up the music cause I'm only hearing clicking and air compressing
this is actually a show i went to see as a kid as i lived around that area growing up, im so happy to see actual clips of this show!
after a bit of reflection i really wish i could have gone when i would have actually been able to appreciate it-
The Bullwinkle's in Roanoke,Virginia had Dudley Do right and Underdog animatronic characters.

these old robots are very charming.
I was surprised that it still works! I dunno, how old these animatronics are, but I guess....very old.

Unfortunately this location dismantled and recycled the show just a couple of weeks ago.
Jolly Olly Man That’s a shame. I’d have loved to have seen them in person again. I practically lived at the Bullwinkles here in Calgary, Canada in the 80s and loved watching them perform :)
I hope they don't scrap the Washington ones :(

A shame they got rid of the animatronic 2 years ago after a huge renovation
Someone should put in the HQ audio over this footage so no one gets to hear the behind-the-scenes of the clunking of machinery of the audio animatronics. The audio does exist out there as I think someone uploaded them to RUclips once.

Thanks to this restaurant, I'm now really interested in Rocky And Bullwinkle.
But, I wish there was a California location. I mean, I know that almost all of them were turned into Boomers but, it doesn't have that Rocky and Bullwinkle theme.

Yes, might be because of all the gaps in the stage not sound proofing it. I also know these animatronics have valves inside their bodies too. Lots of air leaks here too lol.
Rocky's valves are inside the box he's standing on. Not sure about Bullwinkle.

Yes it is. It wasn't working when I came in 2016 either. It did for 5 seconds and then never moved again lol.
Nowhere close to the original show, with the 3 stage theater, dim lighting, and water show.
