Yeah depending on your hair, preference in style and skill set, learning how to do your own hair can take years and that's why professionals go to school for it. It's hard to look as polished as a professional can have you looking.
i think eating healthy working out and drinking alot of water will help with some of the stuff we try to improve with cosmetics (nails, good skin, body, hair)
@oaktree1626 They look crazy the first few months. Once they fade a little, you're straight. I hated mine when I got it. Now I get compliments on them with people thinking they're natural. You have to go to the right person.
She clearly did not quit with her natural beat face and snatched brow, manicured white nails and fresh silk press. She just reduced as I have as well and probably started doing most of the work at home. Which i do as well. All of those things you mentioned about her can be done at home yourself for cheap/free. If she already owns the tools, she can do her own silk press. She can beat her own face (quite inexpensively with just E.L.F products too). You can wax your own eyebrows at home. (I had to do that during the panny.) I am 52, been married for 26 years, 3 grown children and I don't wear any make-up and I grow my own nails and do my own hair and skin care is minimal. I said all of that to say this, be who God created you to be, be Original. There is nothing wrong with looking nice and taking care of yourself, but as women we can go overboard, while men are always natural, because they don't do all of that stuff, they just keep it simple and so should we.🙏🏼💯🙏🏼💯
We don't need makeup fake nails...nothing. God never said we needed all.this. Society has ruined us and brainwashed women's minds to think we need all.this extra mess. Women accept your natural beauty bc men don't need all.that either so why can't we also do the same? Just keep your routine simple. Baking soda to scrub face and add an oil to the face to keep it soft. The end.
nowadays woman use too many beauty products to enhance themselves and it’s not cheap as man you see a woman lie get what you get then run 🏃 because you came across a financial disaster 😂😂😂😂
They look gorgeous, I do believe skin care is no 1 nails, pedi, clean kept hair not expensive weaves are just useless I'm a skin care girl and it shines through Even wearing my cheap clothes my skin glows😂
Some of these girlies are hiking up the prices. Who's buying a new 1k wig every month? It's mean't to be reusable. Blowouts aren't also going to break your bank even if you do it every week for the whole month. That that level of manipulation is damaging to hair. Smh.
I'm 49 and never felt the need to do all of those things unless it's a special occasion. Lashes was my thing until I realized that you can grow your natural lashes longer with JBCO, told game changer. Now I'm back to the basics: mascara and lip gloss. Someone already said this but shout out to the old school parents who didn't allow us to do the most too soon or be "fast" 😅
Well old school parents didn't allow us, bc it may not have been "a thing" and for those who could afford it, I mean nail shops became a thing in the 90's-maybe?....I mean makeup and cleansing has always been normal thing...I'm reminded by early Fashion Fair/Mary Kay, I know I'm dating myself....but now, I feel for these babies😢....I agree, keep it simple, keep it reasonable, keep money in your pocket🎉

YOU CAN MANTAIN YOURSELF ON A BUDGET 😂 WHY ARE YOU GUYS SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY & TIME ON MAINTENANCE. I DO MY OWN HAIR, MY OWN NAILS, MY OWN HOME FACIALS, I DON'T NEED EXPENSIVE CLOTHES BUT I STILL LOOK CUTE EVERY TIME ..ETC. YOU DON'T NEED TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY TO STAY CUTE & PRESENTABLE
We need to educate ourselves and learn. This doesn’t apply to everyone but, ask the question, how much do we have in our emergency fund? We can find a way to pamper ourselves without spending so much and aren’t prepared for life.
I’m a naturally curly girl and I just got a silk press for the first time in 3 years. It ran me $250 and left me with mild heat damage. Imma stick to my curls. No thank you!
I probably could have opened a hair store as much weave I brought when I was a teenager, until my late 20s. It feels good to be natural, natural hair, natural nails, natural skin. Natural body.
Off topic but ladies you both look effortlessly gorgeous and classy! I love the sleek bobs, the minimalistic makeup look, and monochromatic outfits. Slay! 🤍🤎
@KatieAJ my point is that how they present is not over the top; it's giving a less is more, simple and clean aesthetic and I find it to be very tasteful 👌🏼✨️.
I purchased me a gel x kit off Amazon for less than 30 dollars and I’ve been doing my own nail. Best decision ever and it’s kind of fun. I hated going to the nail salon anyway. I make my own wigs now if only I could do my own lash extensions. I can’t do that one myself but yeah it’s too expensive
This conversation is refreshing. It's beautiful to know that women are changing the motivation behind maintenance to focus more on their overall health in a world that promotes and reinforces high physical beauty standards...and frankly, caring too much about how others see them. We all out here just trying to live! Way to go, y'all, for changing the narrative!
I could never afford it. I keep basic supplies (lipstick, blush and concealer). Do my own hair, nails, wax and brows. I only go to salons for special occasions (wedding, graduations, baby showers).
That’s why you gotta learn how to do your own stuff, it’ll be funny looking at first but eventually you’ll get good at it and won’t have to pay a dime anywhere else 👍🏼✨
That won’t stop you from being exposed to the harmful chemicals in most beauty care products like PFAs (forever chemicals as they are called, that permanently build up in your bloodstream and act as an endocrine disruptor)

Getting your hair serviced was always supposed to be for the services you should not do yourself. In between those services one was supposed to maintain themselves. Ex. if wearing a relaxer, that was only meant for every 6 to 8 weeks and maintaining trimming the split-ends every 6 to 8 weeks would only prove the need to cut ⅛ to ¼ on an inch while hair flourishes in growth. Weeks leading up to the next 6 weeks or 8 weeks was supposed to be done by one's self (shampooing, conditioning, leave-in conditioners, heat protectors for blowdrying and hot curling/flat-ironing etc. People DON'T realize that they end up comparing themselves to TV celebrities.
@manvuulinup9755 The Science Of "Beauty" Because chemicals, sharp tools, electrodes, bacteria, and viruses are involved, rules were set by each state in the U.S. for people who are interested and respect the Beauty Industry To become certified in the art and science of beautifying a person's hair, skin, and nails through cosmetic treatments. This is the definition of Cosmetology ("ology" - meaning the study of) Cosmetologists are trained and licensed professionals who perform a variety of services. Many people (even some who pursue this trade) do NOT respect it (until something goes wrong in an instant or over time) to realize RULES (better yet PRINCIPLES/LAWS) are put in place to succeed in results of cosmetic services AND to protect the consumer in addition to the service provider. EXAMPLE: Relaxers. The directions provided in offical relaxer packaging and in the cosmetology textbooks have ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS instructed to apply a relaxer RETOUCH ¼ AWAY from the scalp AND AVOID OVERLAPING the portion of the hair that has been previously relaxed because a relaxer PERMANENTLY alters the hair where previously applied EVERY 6 - 8 WEEKS (which is the SCIENCE of how fast or slow a humans hair grows) Another Rule, Law, Principle. YET consumers and malpractice state-certified hairstylists have BEEN (FOR DECADES) applying this chemical DIRECTLY TO THE SCALP AND OVERLAPING the previously relaxed hair ... AND applying THIS services INCORRECTLY TOO OFTEN (every 2 - 4 weeks) for over 20 - 50 years of their life. CAUSING WHAT OVER TIME ❓️: 💇🏾♀️ Thinning and breakage of their hair by the time they get to their 30 - 50 💇🏾♀️ Damaging the scalp over 2 - 3 decades leading to a type of alopecia, chemical burns, other scalp disorders, and just plain ol' baldness. 💇🏾♀️ and failing to follow these "RULES" (I prefer to say PRINCIPLES) have led to uterine fibroids, types of cancer, infertility and so on and so on. The entire time, it has been the issues of that example, have been to person who is applying the CHEMICAL INCORECTLY. Just Like If One Continues to Clean Their House With Cleaning Solution Without Gloves For Decades ... What Could Possibly Happen To The Skin On Their Hands And How Could The Fumes Affect One's Eyes And Lungs❓️🤔 SAMETHING WITH COLOR: There Are Principles, Laws, Rules That Have/Must Be "Laid Down" Primary Colors Red/Blue/Yellow These 3 colors make ALL the colors in the world. Secondary Colors Purple - created by mixing red and blue Green - created by mixing blue and yellow Orange - created by mixing yellow and red Tertiary Colors - colors created by mixing Primary Colors with Secondar Colors ... These Are The Laws Of Color A.K.A - Principles Of Color THESE RULES CAN NOT BE CHANGED This is just the "tip of the iceberg" as to why a hairstylist's title would be upgraded to the title "Color Specialist." I Am A Licensed And Multifaceted Hairstylist since 1998. I Am A Certified Cosmet-ology Instructor since 2011. I Am Also Being Sarcastic With You For Giving Information You Asked For But Did Not Really Want, Don't Really Care About, Inwhich You May Not Realize You Don't Respect. NOW, if a consumer wants to spend more of their money by pampering themselves beyond maintaining the chemicals made for LICENSED AND CERTIFIED service providers to perform on hair, skin, and nails, by all means BALL OUT 💰 ... But It's Idiotic To Turn Around And Complain About How MUCH It Cost To Attemp To Live Like You Are Appearing On Camera In The Entertainment Industry. 🤡

I pay for my maintenance professionally once a quarter. Full body wax, loc’d hair , mani pedi no polish. I manage it until the next visit and I’ve saved so much money.
@@veronicar8666😂😂 Natural doesn’t only mean makeup! Natural means hair, brows, underwear, legs, cooch, ect. I’m a natural hair girl and my shampoo along can cost $8-$11 a bottle! The products to style and moisturize my hair can cost $11-$20 depending on the size. Do you not remove hair from your body because if you do, that’s NOT natural! 😂
@Lipsticklattes they don't understand that. Anyone can get nails lashes wigs weaves extensions...not everyone can pull of natural. I'm natural and I'm tired of the endless cycles.
❤ I been saying this since my teenage years. I’m 41. My mom use to say when you pretty, you don’t have to do all that. So, I learned early to take care of myself. The most I pay is about 3-4 times a year I get my hair professionally braided.
I sure as hell quit too. For the past 4 years. Pandemic made this transition for me personally. Toner witch hazel and glycolic acid Eye cream Korean beauty Amazon Night moisturizer shea butter cocoa butter and whatever essential oils I have at the moment. Almond oil, jajoba, castor, avocado oil or coconut oil. Only thing I am deliberate on is day moisturizer with spf and that’s also cerave (under 20.00) No pedicures( chemicals does not help with my perimenopause symptoms No tips no nails (no chemicals ) no wait in salons I am done! It’s too expensive and my ass is aging I need the funds for supplements, collagen, good wine and intentional things like a museum visit, play, or something that will teach me something. Oh and vacations. Air fare cost as much as the damn bill at Sephora!
I do most of that. It is not that expensive. Find different places that’s still good with better prices. Also, I invest, and save of what I receive. Spending that much each month can be invested, and with time turn into a minimum of a million near retirement age.
👏👏 Yes! Learn to do it yourself, it's so much cheaper and believe it or not, empowering. I don't like to have to depend on nobody and when they get you on a schedule for hundreds of dollars every month, they control your pocketbook. If you can do it yourself, do it even if it ain't perfect. You only get better over time and that leaves money left to ENJOY your life instead of just looking like you enjoy it!
I do my own and my mums pedicures. She does my hair, and i take out her sewin's. I do my own press on/gel x. I got my own face steamer for face and hair treatments. Im starting to do my own individual lashes
Ladies go to the beauty school to get your beauty treatments. Here in Atlanta, GA Eliane Sterling Institute is a good one. Next, i'm going to cooking school and get gourmet meals made for pennies.😊
Natural Beauty Wins!!! I’m 55 - Lipgloss lipstain eye shadow eyeliner mascara & on special occasions - maybe add some concealer or bronzer - most days I go barefaced, so my makeup last long - Mani Pedi with Buff & Clear polish $40, glueless wigs $20-$100, my natural curls or braids $40-$80. I get my eyebrows threaded for $15. I wash with black soap & use Shea butter after. $15. I make my own skin & hair care $30-$60.
I do my own pedis, I color my own hair, I use natural products like coconut oil and almond oil in my hair. I don’t wear any or little make up and I bought this hena for my eyebrows that was 12 bucks on amazon that has lasted me 6 months worth. I buy the cheap cleanser from dollar tree that is the same as neutrogena. I do everything as cheap as possible because I just don’t have it.
Waxing (even Brazilian-just use a mirror) can be done at home. Pedicures can be done at home and a simple regular manicure can, too. Maybe hair would be the only expense if you can’t braid, color or cut your hair.
Yes! I’ve been doing own nails for 6 years, do my own eyebrows, I use my makeup until it runs out. I only get my hair professionally done maybe 4 times a year. Now shopping im still working on that I really need to cut down.

This is why I went to beauty school. Noone, not even the school, understand why I went if I wasn't got to work in the industry. I kept saying being the stylist & nail tech for myself & family will save me soo much $$ in the long run.

How much was the school?!
Stems from wanting to keep up with others and being social media ready
I am 52, been married for 26 years, 3 grown children and I don't wear any make-up and I grow my own nails and do my own hair and skin care is minimal. I said all of that to say this, be who God created you to be, be Original. There is nothing wrong with looking nice and taking care of yourself, but as women we can go overboard, while men are always natural, because they don't do all of that stuff, they just keep it simple and so should we.🙏🏼💯🙏🏼💯
THAT PART💯 I'm right with you.
Preach!!!!
Exactly! You look beautiful.
I only spend money on good skincare that does NOT cost $100-$400 per month. $300-$1k for hair is ridiculous!
Right. I use Japanese skin care and don’t even spend that much
Cosrx got me
They look gorgeous, I do believe skin care is no 1 nails, pedi, clean kept hair not expensive weaves are just useless
I'm a skin care girl and it shines through
Even wearing my cheap clothes my skin glows😂
$300 to $1000 a month just on hair is way too much.

That is DEEP- you could have opened YOUR OWN STORE!!!! That is truly something!

Me looking at my press ons that serves me well
Me too...just in gel wraps I got from Walmart & Dollar tree 😂
Do you need glue and filing for press ons?
Real question : how do you get them to last ? I have tried and they pop out same day pls help
@@naongakalumbi8670 you need glue to glue on the nail to your natural nails . You need a file to file off the natural oils your natural nails produces for a longer press on wear. If you file before applying the press on your press ons will last longer.

Who laid down the rules?
EXAMPLE:
Relaxers.
CAUSING WHAT OVER TIME ❓️:
💇🏾♀️ Thinning and breakage of their hair by the time they get to their 30 - 50
💇🏾♀️ Damaging the scalp over 2 - 3 decades
leading to a type of alopecia, chemical burns, other scalp disorders, and just plain ol' baldness.
What Could Possibly Happen To The Skin On Their Hands And How Could The Fumes Affect One's Eyes And Lungs❓️🤔
SAMETHING WITH COLOR:
There Are Principles, Laws, Rules That Have/Must Be "Laid Down"
Primary Colors
Red/Blue/Yellow
These 3 colors make ALL the colors in the world.
Secondary Colors
Purple - created by mixing red and blue
Green - created by mixing blue and yellow
Orange - created by mixing yellow and red
Tertiary Colors - colors created by mixing Primary Colors with Secondar Colors ...
These Are The Laws Of Color
A.K.A - Principles Of Color
THESE RULES CAN NOT BE CHANGED
This is just the "tip of the iceberg" as to why a hairstylist's title would be upgraded to the title "Color Specialist."
