- Welcome to Day 16 of my attempt to vlog every day in October! In this episode there's weird weather, I block my Chamomile Shawl, and get a very early night!
(My channel is about crochet, knitting, yarn, crafts and all the good stuff. I live in Kent, in the UK, with my long-suffering husband and my 2 delightful daughters. They tolerate me well!
I hope you enjoy my Vlogtober.
Ali xx)
Such detailed blocking of the shawl. Well worth all the effort Ali, it's really beautiful 💖 Take good care of yourself x
Thank you Elaine! It took a LOT of pins! Thank you xx
Hope you are feeling much better real soon. Take care, rest up. ❤️
Thank you Diane, hopefully some gentle me-time this week will help xx
Absolutely agree about "Self-care"! You are always a giver, a happy/sparkly person, but I could just hear in your voice at the start of this video that you really are not felling 100%. Hope everything improves over the next few days and you feel better soon. x
Love your shawl, it has blocked out beautifully!
Aw thank you so much for your kind comment Lorraine :) Yes, not feeling very sparkly this week, a few early nights should sort me out. The shawl was so fun to make and I loved the yarns I used so pinning it out was fun too :) xx
Ah ha it's the carpet again! I hope that your week of self care was beneficial xx
Glad to hear you are taking some time for self care. Hope it works and you are feeling better soon! Curl up with some yarn and I’m sure you’ll be better in no time.
That's always a good cure :) Thank you Heather xx
It was a very strange day yesterday! I've never seen light like it!
It was so odd wasn't it? I couldn't capture it properly on camera, it was like an eclipse. My car was covered in sand this morning :) xx
Hope you're feeling better and taking care of yourself.
Thank you Celeste x
Take care of yourself, and I hope you feel better soon. xx
Thank you Lise xx
Even over here in Aus we heard about the sands from the Sahara and the smoke and ash from Portugal affecting your skies, that must've been one heck of a storm! Hope you're feeling better soon.
Wow news travels far! It was such a weird day, just like an eclipse, I kind of liked it! Thank you :) x
Oh Ali! What a day you had! Sending warm, woolie hugs and thoughts that you will be feeling all better soon. And I was just thinking when I "Day 16" popped up, where has the month of October gone?!? x o
It's gone so fast! Where did the year go! Thank you for the woolie hugs Cary, right back at you xx
Take care , good idea to listen to your body it usually knows best 😉 safety glasses might be in order next clipping 😂. Shawl looks beautiful you should be really pleased. 😘
Yes, safety goggles definitely required! Heehee! Thank you Diane xx
Just started the tattie holidays up here and my monsters are driving me insane....hope you're feeling better soon and the eye injury recovers overnight !! shawl looks fabulous and I'm fancying the zoomigurumi book you're working from xx
Good luck with the holidays! Ours break up this Friday. My eye is better today but still so sore...seriously, the things that happen to us in the course of parenting! Thank you Jennifer xx
good news about the eye ... currently have a purple toe nail due to a heavy metal Thomas landing on it -the joys xx
A self-care week seems like a fab idea! I think this time of year is getting crazy. I completely lost the plot yesterday and took a self-care day myself - mostly taking myself back to bed if I'm honest... We all need to do it sometimes! I woke to the most amazing orange sky around lunchtime (in the midlands) - beautiful wasn't it?
Hope you feel better soon! x
I think you're right - this time of year is bonkers isn't it? Hope your day in bed helped (have you heard the new Morrissey song...? Spent the day in bed...) I am having an "at home" day today as much as I can.
The light was incredible, so eerie! Don't think we'll see anything like that again!
Hope you are feeling better today xx
It's just one thing after another - at school especially there's form after form, and projects to do, clubs starting up - and of course my kids want to join them ALL (until 3 weeks down the line they realise it's too much... we've been a bit strict this year!)
I hope you feel better now! I felt better after some sleep at last (getting my one year old to stay in her own room... we had two days in a row where she wouldn't sleep longer than 2 hours at a time!). I'm off to check out this Morrissey song - it sounds so me. ;-)
Hope you feel better very soon.
Thank you Suzanne xx
The shawl looks incredible, how long did it take to pin it? We are 'oop north' and had that strange light for a few hours...then the sun came out!
I watched an entire episode of Inside No.23 whilst pinning, so about an hour :) I was glad I did though as it really worked to pull out the edging.
The light was so peculiar! We had it right through until sunset, it was like an eclipse! I couldn't capture it properly on camera at all xx
