I’ve owned a Tone Master Deluxe Reverb since they first came out in September 2019 (I pre-ordered mine). Also, about mid 2021, I purchased a Tone Master Twin Reverb. I’ve been playing these amps constantly, using my Fender Baja 50’s Telecaster, and my gorgeous new Fender Vintera ‘70’s Telecaster. I can tell you, these amps are the real deal. The sound comes about 95% close to their tube counterparts. By the way, I also own two Fender Tube reissue amps: a ‘65 Twin Reverb and a ‘63 Vibroverb. I trust my ears, and these Tone Masters are something you need to play for yourself. You won’t regret it. You will be pleasantly surprised. Particularly if you’re into clean tones. I wish they would make a Silverface Tone Master now.
The good thing about fender releasing those amps model by model is that it gives time for the engineers to fine tune the algorithms for each model. IMO the secret of those amps is not dedicated processing power, but rather dedicated human power in modeling one by one
Pete's intro jam has to be my second favorite of all the videos I've watched; right behind the bit he played on the Joe Bonamassa Black Beauty video. Pete, please man - put out a blues masterclass.

Bought one about a year ago to add to my Blonde TMDR . Love it!!!! Played tube amps for 30 years and still have a few, but the light weight and great sound at a low volumes as well make this a keeper for me!!!
One of the best sounding videos I've heard on the channel. And definitely the best sounding video with the TMSR on the Internet period. It is great to hear this amp in the hands of folks that know how to dial in a Super Reverb to sound great. Thanks a bunch for doing this and for putting it through the paces with all the guitars so that we can hear how well it responds with each. Awesome stuff. It seems like the amp inspired and brought out higher levels of playing from both of them than I have seen before. That's a testament to how good the amp is.
The hype is real. I just brought mine home today, and my jaw dropped multiple times trying different guitars into it. This is not your old solid state modeling amp....this is on another level. My Princeton sits right next to it and I went back and forth multiple time trying to find a telltale sign of modeling.... so far I can't. It not only sounds great it FEELS right. Never had a non tube amp respond like this. This amp is absolutely brilliant.
@Nik Verschuren it doesn't, not at all. This is not what modeling amps have been in the past. You have to try it. It took me a while to plug into one for that same reason, but when I finally did it proved me wrong. I would bet hard money that 99% of people hearing this amp would not be able to tell. The remaining 1% would be Joe Bonomasa, Eric johnson, etc.....
Nice demo. Sure would've been nice to actually see the DB meter, given the attenuator is such a big selling point. Not sure who's idea it was to park a bass guitar headstock right in front of the meter readout.
I bought one ...its predominantly a bedroom guitar players dream. It doesn't cut it on the stage .. sound's mega different in every venue. Fades out on high notes on solos. Its not what you want or think .. don't waste time and money... dreadful thing... Mesa boogie make a few valve 4x10 combos...they are the best deal
I rescued a 70s Super Reverb from a dumpster. I replaced two busted speakers and took it to Mad Science Works in Raleigh NC for a new set of Caps. I also replaced the tubes, and then sold it to someone I knew would take good care of it. Looking back, now I wish I would have kept it.
I had a '63 SR I bought new in '63 when I was in HS (yeah, I'm old). I dragged that boat anchor through all of college, med school, and beyond but foolishly sold it in the mid 80s thinking I'd like a channel switching amp with a lead channel. Live and learn. What I'm hearing from Pete's playing makes me drool for one of these, though it's probably no longer appropriate for my current needs (being met w/ modelers/cab). But still.... this is so compelling!!!
Well mine arrived today... It's crazy good!! I'm no tube fender amp purist. I do have a Blues Junior, and a Mesa Lonestar which I love. But this is something else... I got the fender clean I never knew I wanted! Warning ⚠️ it's potentially VERY LOUD, use caution, you could destroy your hearing forever.
The processing power they put in those tone master amps is super impressive. Was thinking about a twin but wow the super reverb sounds incredibly good and....I absolutely LOVE 10" speakers. There is a warmth to them that a 12" just can't give you.
I know that it's a really new, I think I had seen this video and really wanted to play one, and I just happen to be passing through a town that had a guitar center. So I popped into the guitar center and got to play one for like 15 minutes, and it was so sweet. I have a tone master deluxe, and the super blows it out of the water. And I love my deluxe.
Nice video. Great playing. The reality is these days that digital amps and modelers have come a long way. I love tube amps. And don't love them at the same time. Tubes can sound good at one point but with environment changes not sound as good the next. They burn out, they make for a heavy amp, etc. Going the digital route cuts that stuff out in part.
Best sounding digital guitar product so far for me. Exactly what I was complaining about digital product is not there. There are no 99999999 amp/pedal/effects models and what not. Reality is it takes less than a week to figure out a modeler. Then you're left with a superior product. If you buy this amp you'll either be buying or chugging around $1000's worth of pedals. Digital amp's with no effects are pretty much pointless these days.

Hats off to Fender for the whole Tone Master range, which, if I ever gigged as a guitarist again, I'd definately invest in - I'm on bass duties at the moment with a Fender Rumble 200 and couldn't be happier. Ididnt find a vintage one in 5 years, so i gave a try to the tonemaster super reverb, and its very surprinsgly good in the room... it beats my blues deluxe esayly and even my real deluxe reverb in term if 3d projection etc
Fender just really followed the Roland Blues Cube line idea. The difference of course is these look authentic and Fender did a nicer job! A little overpriced though imo considering the costly components (tubes and transformers) aren't required
@@imCurveee I understand that too. Seems like they're trying to recoup all that R&D immediately though, hinting that they might not be making these for very long? Stretch it out a bit and bring the cost down several hundred. Make the money back over 5 years instead of the first year of sales.
@@andertons When you do the comparison, consider playing through the same cab - I want to know how much of any difference is the amp itself, and how much is the neodymium speaker. A tonemaster with some standard speakers (adds 20-30 lbs), or a valve amp with the neodymium speakers (subtracts 20-30 lbs) might be the best all around.
I’ve just bought a Tonemaster Twin. It’s really quite amazing. The secret is the Class D power amp. I’d quite like to see more footage of this with pedals. Because the TM Twin takes pedals far better than the Deluxe IMHO
Hi I tried the Deluxe in a shop. But I took a chance and bought the blond TM Twin. I think the combination of a more pronounced midrange and the creamback speakers makes it a really good pedal platform amp. I use a Marshall in a box type drive and a tubescreamer and it handles them beautifully.
Awesome intro always enjoy watch Pete play. Fender makes excellent amps and guitars I think Fender should try and put an attenuated control into their new tube amps as well that would sell like crazy especially for people like me that live in a apartment/flat. I have a Boss Katana Artist MKii and love it I’m thinking about doing a wet/dry setup and was looking at one of these to add to my set up. Hope you guys are doing well, Cheers from New Mexico, USA.
@@christianboddum8783 Also, it's minimum advertised price is 37% lower than the reissue. I would be willing to pay more for something made in the US and Mexico than China.
Every amp sounds different depending on who is playing. These sales videos would have you believe is money is all you need for a great sound. most experienced players know that this is not true. The real test is how does it perform with a full band setup. A very well structured presentation never the less.
I think that the last licks that Lee were playing at the end,is some of the best I've heard him ever play. You were in the vibe there captain.I would like to check out one of these amps,I had a Super back in the early 90s and loved, but like an idiot,I sold it.It was heavy and it did get loud in the house, thank goodness I lived in the country. This amp sounds pretty darn close and for my limited playing would be fine and get the sound I remember, but at a lower volume level.
I can't decide how much of those delicious tones are due to amp and how much is due to that gorgeous Heritage and equally gorgeous Danish Pete. This is the first Tone Master offering that gives me serious GAS.
Pete you're right in the middle of being late or early for Valentines day. I can taste the conversation hearts 💕 looking at the pink sweatshirt and red guitar.
Finally, a demo which goes through every knob, switch and jack. You guys do the BEST demos out there, hands down. Well done, you sold me on this amp and if I were local to your shop I'd feel the need to buy it there after watching this. Great amp, great video. Well done.
I think its a brilliant idea the tone master series. These sound the part Blackface all the way. I personally love the Super-reverb I will be getting one. What I'd really like to see is Fender continue with Tweed versions. deluxe, twin, bassman...That's my favorite era of fender Amps
Did you end up getting one, and do you enjoy it? Im trying to decide between one of these and a fender tube combo around the same price, but cant seem to make up my mind.
Volume control is a big selling point for amps like this. In the future, can you make sure the dB meter is visible? Sounds great though! That H530 is gorgeous
Lovely video guys, great commentary, great playing/noodling, and great balanced views. Another 10/10! Top notch. This channel should be on prescription to every doctor in the country - up beat every time - even when playing the blues! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video that intro wow wow wow epic blus playing, anyone have an idea what the db was pulling at the start n at Andertons what antenuation mode did you guys have it in at that point ^_^ bit of a gutter the DB meter was covered on the attenuation bit for home use out of the 3 Tonemaster amps which does everyone think has the edge without getting next door banging on the walls lol I usually play my THR at about 70-75db
I could see this amp with a Gretsch Man Rockabilly for as long as you want! I don't see much difference with this or its original tube cousin. It seems worth saving the bucks and picking one up. Beautiful sounding amp.
I would like to have seen the dB meter in the right background, but the neck and tuning head of the bass guitar in the stand was blocking it. I do watch that meter during your vids. Thx! Have watched this vid multiple times as I zero in on an amp purchase decision vs. the Fender Twin.
In 50 years Fender will develop a tube amp that can nail the exact sound of one of their digital tonemaster.

Ididnt find a vintage one in 5 years, so i gave a try to the tonemaster super reverb, and its very surprinsgly good in the room... it beats my blues deluxe esayly and even my real deluxe reverb in term if 3d projection etc
Played one last weekend and it has me debating on swapping the deluxe for the Super. I loved the clarity and wall of sound that came from it.
Best sounding Tone Master yet in my humble opinion.
Pete is just getting better and better
My favorite of the Tone Master series and that Heritage sounds awesome!
Fender just really followed the Roland Blues Cube line idea. The difference of course is these look authentic and Fender did a nicer job!
A little overpriced though imo considering the costly components (tubes and transformers) aren't required
They do feel slightly overpriced but you're paying for the Fender name and the R&D that went into these amps, which I understand.
@@imCurveee I understand that too. Seems like they're trying to recoup all that R&D immediately though, hinting that they might not be making these for very long? Stretch it out a bit and bring the cost down several hundred. Make the money back over 5 years instead of the first year of sales.
These amps are crazy. Love my twin.
Pete’s playing was fantastic! I gotta get one of these.
Seriously that's amazing playing from Pete!
Any chance of a shootout between the tone masters and their tube counterparts? 😎
We wanted to but getting the tube ones is tough - I think our next delivery is about 6 months away!
@@andertons well.. it’s great that you’re thinking about it!!
@@andertons borrow them!
@@Timthecommenter this has exactly the same speakers as the tube version.
I’ve just bought a Tonemaster Twin. It’s really quite amazing. The secret is the Class D power amp. I’d quite like to see more footage of this with pedals. Because the TM Twin takes pedals far better than the Deluxe IMHO
Did you buy the classic or the blonde model? How does it work better with pedals? Thinking of crossing the line.
Hi
I tried the Deluxe in a shop. But I took a chance and bought the blond TM Twin. I think the combination of a more pronounced midrange and the creamback speakers makes it a really good pedal platform amp. I use a Marshall in a box type drive and a tubescreamer and it handles them beautifully.
The tonemaster series sounds really good, we need a tonemaster princeton reverb and a tweed deluxe one!!
Tell you what, the shade of yellow on that strat is stunning.
Great attenuator samples for the amp. Very revealing what you can do with it.
Incredible playing at the last 3:15 seconds of this video.
Blues On....💙
i will do booking agency when these 2 guys decide to do a european wide live tour. I will be rich in short time.
How did fender pull this off? It's a digital amp with a soul.
Classic hive because it's the bee's knees? Never heard Pete sound better, that was gorgeous.
Man! There's being in the zone and then there's whatever Pete was in during that opening jam.... it was more a new dimension of consciousness!
SRV played his at almost full volume. I use to see him in Fort Worth at a local bar before he was famous. OMG a wall of sound!
This amp will SRV
I've had to muscle various amplifiers up flights of stairs. The light weight of the Tone Master series is the most appealing feature.
The Di. option is pretty sweet too, you can mute the amp while doing monitor soundcheck ;-)
Best intro jam I can remember. Just great 👍
That intro was great. Pete makes me both want to practice more and quit guitar at the same time.
I used to have a hot rod dville. It weighed a ton and was gone in a year. Sounded great….but. I hope they bring this one into the mix :)
This is the first Tone Master offering that gives me serious GAS.
i played through the 2 best amps ever made, the twin reverb by fender and the music man hd 130 2x12. never be better amps
This amp is mind blowing!
Well done.
😲 😱 😲 😱 THE BEST BLUES IVE EVER HEARD OMG 😲
I think its a brilliant idea the tone master series. These sound the part Blackface all the way. I personally love the Super-reverb I will be getting one. What I'd really like to see is Fender continue with Tweed versions. deluxe, twin, bassman...That's my favorite era of fender Amps
Did you end up getting one, and do you enjoy it? Im trying to decide between one of these and a fender tube combo around the same price, but cant seem to make up my mind.
@@josephmears3537get a tonemaster. Can't find tubes replacements anymore
Holy hell, Petey's playing was inspired in this vid. That's what great gear does to you.
That is the best sounding of the Tone Masters. Impressive.
Have to point out that fender did do the "everything" digital amp in the mustang series.
Talk about nailing the right guitar for the demo
I think the pink shirt enhances those fingers Pete ! Pink is ur color I guess ! I could listen to that beginning all day!
I'm praying that one day, they make one that's modeled after the Super Sonic and has an FX loop. But as always, great demo!
Maybe you can take a look at the super champ x2 👍
Creamy Warm Sparkling Fender Goodness Via P-90 Pups Love Love Love it.
Best intro I’ve heard this far.
These Tone Master amps are just awesome!
Cap’n killing it during the outro 🤘🏻🦔
