Being a child of the 60’s and 70’s it take me back a bit. When I was a child I had some pretty cool clothes but more with peace and love signs.😂 I thought I was quite the fashionista.😂😂😂 I love that designers look to the past for inspiration.🥰 There’s the saying “Everything old is new again.”🥰
I love the bag with the big V. I think he honored house codes while not losing sight of his own aesthetic. It’s a hard balance, I’m sure. Great video, love the old pics!
thanks Kate!! Yes i thought it was a good first collection!
I think the *hotdups* bag and shoes should be the best replicas in the world
This was fun! He’s back! I’m so happy but yes it looks so Gucci
For a long time, as Chanel prices have risen, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have a *hotdups* as a travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one would have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
Glamour is back!
The flat tote with the huge V is so retro! I love it along with the tapestry handbag and that layered dress! All so good! Bravo! So Valentino! You proved that with a look back into the archives. Well done! Thanks!
There’s a reason why Gucci needed to evolve after the same looks over and over for many seasons. Consumers have moved on hence the downfall of the Gucci. Much respect for his creativity and how he evolved Gucci when taking helm. He’s doing the same boho look though it’s inspired by Valentino’s archive. It’s not a modern take and evolution for the brand for a first showing.
Your descriptions of the clothing are so knowledgeable!
I like when designers use archives . I recently learned about the 2 Valentino companies from Dions YT channel. I wasn't aware of that situation
He is just so exceptionally talented
I’m loving the flat totes with the huge V. I used to have a cape coat with the slits for the arms when I was a child in the 60s. Not in houndstooth but so nostalgic. I really want the large butterfly hair barrette, so pretty. Thanks for sharing, Jessie!
LOve the butterfly clip😻
Great video, Jess! Love the old pics 😍
You are a delightful person 😃
awww you are!! 😘
😍60’s and 70’s the best inspiration + 80’s pastell color🤍🩵💖
Love your attitude about this bag and not caring about what people will say. *gtdupe* You are right keep your head up and no your priorities.
Love the video. Beautiful bags
I agree with your review, I think the accessories have been improved, like you said there’s a 60s influence, hopefully the next collections will improve, because he produced 170 looks in such a short time!
I really like everything! I especially love the white tweed coat! The pink dress with frilly collar is so beautiful.
The pink and green dress at 9:57 is STUNNING!
Wow! The scallop like dress with pearls and lace gloves at 14:52 is PHENOMENAL!
This is a really successful collection and I can’t wait to see what else he creates ❤
same!! im excited for the next season!😍
Is this his new collection or from the 60s? Doesn’t feel “current”.
Oh i love this! Alessandro good on you!
Love the swing coat, could do without the teletubby hat 😂 but tbh I wish hats would come back as an every day item for women!!
Hi Jess! I love all the vintage clothes from the 60s, plus clothes that are inspired by them! Thanks for sharing! I loved the snake embossed chain strap bag. That with some snake embossed shoes? Chic, chic, chic!
very fancy!!!😻
The only thing I didn't like was the hat with the ring on top. It looked like a Teletubbies hat. Excellent video Jess. Thanks!
Hey Jessie, not sure if you’ve seen it but you were featured in the beginning of Caleb Snell’s recent interview with Niki Sky on RUclips
Soooo bizarre seing 1960’s clothing in 2024. Bring on the 70’s and I’ll be all over it 😂. Actually I bought a 70’s dress at an opp shop in summer. It’s incredible 😊
I love your coat Jessie! Is it Hermes??
Thank goodness there were no $1000 sweatshirts. That’s not a “designer” fashion to me. I do think the furs look more than dated. They look dowdy. But in general, I loved the idea of dressing up again being fashionable and doing your hair and wearing hats and gloves again. Very nice.
Ok there was ONE sweatshirt. Meh. Mostly these were clothes for ladies who dress up. So I thought it was very lovely.
Yes! minimalist is OUT
The only thing I liked was the cream coat with v logo pockets. And maybe the green and pink floral dress but wouldn't wear that. Didn't like any of the bags.
Loving your hair clip, looks really elegant when your face is in profile.
oo thanks!! 😆🌸
great collection for editorials and photo shoots but honestrly... who would pull one of these total look on the streets (beside people working in fashion)? unwearable, very Guccy to me. i miss the glamour of Valentino.
It's Gucci 2.0
Did you mean Elisabeth Taylor?
Maybe I need new glasses lol!
according to google it's Audrey 😅
A Moroccan head scarf? You mean the hijab muslim women wear
i may be wrong but I believe other cultures wear silk scarves wrapped on the head too?
@@Jessiestyle Moroccan women wore it for religious reasons idk if his inspiration was the north african culture cause I can see it in some of those pics yet also women in 60s protected their hairstyles with silk scarves we can only speculate
