The spmts roll onto the test pad, the trench has a huge concrete and steel lid that covers the trench under the test stand, once stand dropped in place, spmts roll out and the lid on trench moves across to open under the ship. Merry Christmas to all at NSF 🎉🎉
Anybody else remember when a Static Fire would shake off (min.) 30% of the upper stage’s mass in heat shield tiles? 😂😂 Update: 9:10 - yes, that is exactly what it’s designed for! It’ll be a “shower head” on top of the launch mount and that plate will interface with the launch pad when installed.
In the Marine Corps I would go to briefings and the officers would spout off abbreviations left and right and the enlisted personal would have no idea what they were talking about. Nobody would ask what the abbreviations meant as to not sound stupid which lead to people being stupid because they didn’t know what was going on. The best practice is to just say the full name as if hearing it for the first time. It may be annoying but the video isn’t for you, it’s for the viewers. Keep up the good work!
I believe both the High pressure modular nitrogen tanks and the sandwiched metal plates are part of the same but totally different flame diverter system.....from what little is available I think spacex plans on applying some cooling water to the top plate to protect it and its workings from the issues now plaguing the OLM....just not quite the same as before.....I doubt they will be spraying water onto the side of the super heavy booster...remember those plates are more or less going to be at the same relative height as the top of the OLM....not underneath the rapters but around the sides of the super heavy .....it will be interesting to see how spacex manages their spray patterns on this top plate.... the nitrogen tanks provide the necessary "push" to get the water out against 400 bar of pressure.....otherwise the metal cooling plates would actually explode if the water is allowed to turn to steam........the water pressure has to be higher than the raptor exhaust pressure....or else...
I wonder if they at some point enclose the towers with concrete plates all the way up at some point. That should stabilize the tower a little bit more when connected to the tower structure, because of the additional mass, when ships and boosters are landing.
Enjoy your relaxed ‘off the cuff’ commentaries John. All the commentators at NSF are good but Jack ‘barking out’ the latest updates gives me headaches and those ‘fancy droppers’ of Aleysia can get a bit distracting on times. 😊
I don't see why they put signs up lol. I went for flight 6 and was pretty disappointed to not get to see the Starbase sign again cuz it was blocked with cars. Waiting for that to be gone too ig
John/Das.. hello.. stupid question, the Pad B OLM is going to be many tonnes heavy when completed, how the hell are they going to move it to Tower Two.. Cheers and Happy Holidays from the UK.
DAS, keep saying OLM, people can figure it out or google it! Please don’t say Orbital Launch Mount! It’s a mouth full! I thought the new launch mount would have water cooled top.
The flaps may be manufactured off-site due to manufacturing techniques such as welding titanium. Does it look like Pad A OLM be decommissioned and replaced by the new design?
You're allowed to _ramble_ on, Das, but also perhaps focus on video and **explain** some stuff, some of your monologues roll over three captions by your team. 😊

Merry Christmas to all at NSF 🎉🎉
Keep up the great content as always, TEAM NASASpaceflight!
Those are mortar tubes for the fireworks display on New Year's Eve... not something for Pad B's OLM. It's what the fireworks are launched out of.
Must have missed that label. 🤣 - Das
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! 🎄
Same to you!
I'll never understand why this channel isn't flooded with people to point it's locking up from overload.
Thanks Mary! You always get good shots.
Really love the two audio track option! Thank you
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AT NSF 🎅🤶🎄
Yes, water cooled top plate.
Love these updates with Das.
Yes I do believe there is a ramp that slides out at the static fire spot for the spmts and yes the deck with be water cooled on the new OLM
Das, you crack me up! 😅
Oh no what did I say this time? 🤣 - Das
@@NASASpaceflightwe love you Das 😂

Hello Nerds! 🎄✨
Merry Christmas, SpaceX.
02:16 Mortar tubes for Fireworks ?
My very first thought. Looks like fireworks on NYE at Starbase!
NSF,y'all rock! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, y'all! Peace
Those "palletized" tanks fall under the category of Intermediate bulk containers or IBC for short.
That sounds familiar... thanks! - Das
Nice Job John as always!
Thanks das and NSF team 🎉
Merry Christmas
Same to you!
Rocket Ranch are awesome! 😎
Great commentary Das!
John, the term you are looking for is modular.
Items that are a particular size and dimension, like pallets, crates, containers, etc.🤙
awesome christmas parade great job space x
I ALWAYS attribute my screenshot source and keep the NSF logo in the shot (usually from BocaChicaGal) and I always link! 🎉
Wishing everyone a merry Christmas 🎉
The flaps are composite structures bonded in an autoclave.
Merry Christmas NSF! 🎄💝
3:09 SPMTs were generally just called "transporters" in the field in my old days at work.
Merry early Christmas 🎁
Post all the starbase pictures you want. We want the work to be seen by the world.
Happy Christmas!!!
that sounds cursed lol
It has appeared for a few weeks that top deck of OLM B will be water cooled b

oh I have to tease....they were talking to JarHeads not nerds......LOL🙂
Merry Christmas🎄🎄🎄🎄
@nasaspaceflight what’s up nerds?!
God i wish i could have been there when the chrismas Parade happend
you're correct Das! the new olm will be water cooled on top
how are they going to move orbital launch mount 2?
Thanks Das, Merry Christmas to all us nerds❤️to👀,❤️Mary & all the NSF team thankful for all you do for the stream, Mr. Bergin thanks for everything!
Merry Christmas Nerds! 🎄✨
Maybe the flaps come from the flap store on Amazon?
PS, the top of the pancake for the Flame Trench is for Sound Suppression.
Hi das 😊
Hi again, Mom. It's a comfort knowing that no matter what happens, our videos will always have at least 1 view. 😅 - Das
Great footage Daz as always ...Happy Christmas ....Great work @NASASpaceflight 🚀🔥✨
need the shirt - Work Continues at the OLM
Yes Das they announced water cooled deck
Elon mentioned it a while back, the olm will be water cooled

Just pleased you know what verb conjugation means. What part of Germany are you from?
The high-school Latin part? 😅 - Das
I wonder if they at some point enclose the towers with concrete plates all the way up at some point.
That should stabilize the tower a little bit more when connected to the tower structure,
because of the additional mass, when ships and boosters are landing.
Why?
bet that inflatable starship was the easiest load transported by spmt. 😎

Why did one of the Nosecones have red tiles near the top?
I want that inflatable starship!
..there is a dirty joke lurking in that comment somewhere..
The flaps come from "Flaps R' Us".
yay!!!!!!!
ThanX NSF...
Are you going to release a 2025 Callander.???
yes
the top deck is going to be water cooled
How about a sign over the nose cone stations stating “now servicing SN:X”
There is a cover that rolls over the trench Das
Hi
Das!
@nasaspaceflight What’s up nerds!!!
Orbital Launch Mount is 5 syllables. OLM is 3 syllables. Surely, 2 syllables aren't that hard.
Do you think when Pad B becomes operational will they shut down Pad A and then tear down it's OLM and re-build it to match Pad B?
I don't see why they put signs up lol. I went for flight 6 and was pretty disappointed to not get to see the Starbase sign again cuz it was blocked with cars. Waiting for that to be gone too ig
John/Das.. hello.. stupid question, the Pad B OLM is going to be many tonnes heavy when completed, how the hell are they going to move it to Tower Two.. Cheers and Happy Holidays from the UK.
Multiple SPMTs just like the first OLM.
It's typical to flood the OLM decks during a launch even with a flame trench.
I’M DYING!!
Y’ALL NEED TO WATCH THIS ON .25x speed!!
Das Sounds SO Sloshed!!😂🤣💀👌🏼
Flight 7 will be on 23 or 26 in December 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉go for flight starship and booster 33/14 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤lets go

We'll have to get her out to Starbase for a launch! - Das
They should have a Spanish dub because I guess there are people who don't understand English like I do.
Cascade system
Das, just do a pined comment with a list of common SpaceX acronym's for those who need them.
👍👍👍👍
Were there two inflatable raptors on the top of that I flateable Srarship??

When I steal your images I always photoshop out the scratch.
DOGE needs to look at how often they move their signs.😂
Hey, if you're going to build a company town out of Starbase, you might as well provide entertainment.
Haha! But all Starships are inflatable!

You definitely are leaving some folks out by your insider talk, but then, maybe it's not new folks who watch these videos?
