Psiloritis | Alpine Climb to Summit | Aftermovie

Climb to the very summit of Crete, the Peak of Timios Stavros (2456m) in Psiloritis Mountain. We followed the trail ''Strata of Psiloritis'' that starts from Migeros Plateau and leads to the summit.
Its a 4,5 km route with 700 meters elevation gain, not particullarly diffucult. The trail initially ascends for 2,5 km and then traverses to the mountain ridge.
With snow and ice this traverse requires caution! One must always be prepared with proper equiptment (Crampons and Icepicks) and be vigilant when traversing this section. Over the years numerous fatalities have occur.
On terrible condition or in case you just want to avoid the traverse , there is an alternative option. When reaching the traverse you can continue climping uphill and climp to the peak of Agathas, the second highest of Pailoritis. From there you can continue following the mountain line to the Summit of Timios Stavros.
