Thanks Brother. Yes agree. Wait till you see the next adventure😉 Thanks for always engaging and the positive words. You as well Sir. Great to see us getting the good word out about the beauty that is the PNW. 👊🍄
Hey Meow Meow, yeah pretty much a big ass kid all the time when I find them. Even if it's just one really good one. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate you my purrrrrfect fren👊🍄😻
Yeah that one had a big fat base. Working on my recent trip out couple days ago to another area. Wait till you see some of those Boletes OMG, they were huge. Thanks for watching, stay tuned more to come Brother👊🍄
i shroom for photo ops more than foraging because i am self taught but i am also going to start thanking the forest every time i stumble across new fungi friends. i love it! thanks for the channel AND the gratitude and excitement.
Hey Nicole, Thank you very much for the compliment. Grateful everyday and making someone think about the positive in something I shared , well that's just Beautiful . I'm grateful for all. Have a beautiful day and Good luck with your Mushroom pics. They are really stunning to see out there. 👊🍄💚
You're welcome. Yeah, I don't worry about a few bugs. So many ways to process. Besides Bugs are just eating mushrooms lol. Thanks for watching. Just came back from another mountain trip yesterday and am working on new stuff now. Have a great day!!
Awwww yes shroomysean your day will come. Where are you located in the world? Things are still popping for us at higher elevations. I hope any information helps you find your first one. Thanks for sharing and watching. Good luck 👊🍄
I too am in Washington, Kitsap peninsula! Im between both the Olympics and Cascades, I never know which ones get better mushrooms. I also never have a lot of time, so I very rarely get to go to either!
@@whoe_whate8487 Hey there. Yeah never enough time to get to the places. You just have to go. That area your in has a lot of mushrooms. Hey Check out another channel, @mushroomwonderland1 Aaron is really great and lives in your area. He is also VP of the Kitsap Mycological Society. He has a lot of info as well. Maybe you can spend your time learning and then picking and choosing specific areas. So many areas get mushrooms it's also just a timing thing as well. I was camping on the coast in July and got into some Chanterelles. Another great channel is @MushroomTrail. They both have great videos and do cover your area. Just tell them @ImFungiHunter from this channel sent you. Happy to help if needed . Thank you for commenting and watching. Have a wonderful day 👊🍄
Hello there, yes, but of course it all depends on your location your foraging. There should be some coming out at some of the lower elevations between 3000-4000'. Was 3200' Snoqualmie Pass area and found some couple days ago. Check some of the wetter areas say North faces in same type of areas. Mt Baker is a great place for sure. I would still check there but lower. Have some rain coming next couple days, could also help with some newer flushes possibly. As we get later in the season try checking the Coastal areas, they come up last there. Hope it helps. LMK how it goes if you do. Thanks for sharing👊🍄
Oh nice , yes sounds yummy for sure!! Which one though, potato, sauerkraut, chicken noodle??? Seems like there are so many to choose from eh my Brother? Thank you for watching and sharing, appreciate you 👊🍄
@@ImFungiHunter I soak the dried caps over night, then strain with a cloth to remove any dirt or sand. I use water to make a stock, boil for an hour with a yellow cut up onion and some peppercorn... strain again and cut up the mushrooms and eliminate any stems. Put everything back into a pot and serve with Kluski noodles, a fan faourite on Christmas Eve. Blessings !!
Where do you tend to find these? like where environment wise? We've been looking for them for a few weeks and haven't had any luck. We've been on the cascades this weekend and all we found were old ones that were very much rotted, so I'm starting to think we may need to reevaluate the plan haha
Hey there, Well depending on where your foraging, you would still need to be at a higher elevation. If there old and rotted, congrats, if there Kings, you found a spot to go. Obviously earlier. If there at a certain elevation you made need to either go much higher or wait a bit until the next rains come. in Cascade Mountain Kings video, I was up above 4500'. If you have some fall spots you go at lower elevations you should start looking now. If you find some they can give you an idea as to early (none) the Buttons are popping (right on time) or old then you would be later for the flush. Everything came early this season. Try checking between 3500-4500' . I will be, this up coming week in some of my areas. Good luck with your foraging, im sure you can get dialed in and find some. LMK how it goes.If I see and find some I will do a vid on it. Thanks for watching and sharing👊🍄
Hello. I don't normally harvest them for food, although they are edible and when you get them in perfect condition they taste really good. There usually pretty Buggy beyond what I would care. The Kings are what I seek out as I make a lot of food stuff and medicinal extracts and powders with them. They are my absolute favorite of the Boletes. If your finding a lot try increasing your elevation and perhaps location. Old growth with smaller growth trees are great areas to look. Right now it's the higher elevations to find them 4500' +. If your in WA or OR I would look for roads or the passes where you can find a trail that leads up to higher elevations with the proper forest environment. But if your finding Blue staining ones, go higher if possible. If you find them up higher in one area, then as the cooler fall weather comes in, check lower areas. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting . Have a great day👊🍄
@@ImFungiHunter Thank you for the advice. Found only one huge blue staining one today at 4100 and tons of big russula. I think someone already beat up that trail and found any kings if they were there or possibly it's too early. I thought the blue staining were bitter boletes but did see an article recently that also mentioned an blue staining one that is edible.
@@radiantheatingservicesnw3465 Hey there, YW. Cool that you did. But I noticed in both trips in the Cascades, that when you start seeing them you still need to go higher. In my Mt Baker video it was like that. 4000-4500 was like what you saw. Even our recent trip about the same elevations then once we hit 4500, then we started to see the Kings. If the trail your on has a higher elevation to get to then I would go higher. We went last Thursday and by the time we hit 4800 we were seeing new buttons like in my video. We then headed back down. Try that if possible. But on a side note, if your in WA we have a high heat and Fire Watch Danger for elevations above 1500’ and all my go to areas are like that now. Just be cautious and check the weather and warnings if you are. I will be looking for Chanterelles and Lobster the next several days at the lower elevations. Good luck with your foraging. LMK how it goes👊🍄
Beautiful finds! Nothing quite like a day spent up North in the hills chasing Kings. Keep up the good work! 👍
