Separation numbers: (stop basing scouting on a handful of highlight reels)
    3.54- Xavier Worthy
    3.25- Ricky Pearsall
    3.03- Xavier Leggette
    3.00- AD Mitchell
    2.86- Rome Odunze
    2.72- Marvin Harrison Jr.
    2.59- Malik Nabers
    2.58- Brian Thomas Jr
    2.26- Keon Coleman
Rome got better separation than both Napiers and MHJ, his highlights are full of contested catches cuz those are the best for highlights, people act like experts with no ball knowledge just watching a 2 min reel

MH & Nabers are likely better between the 20s, but Odunze will probably be the best RZ and EZ target in this class. And I don't think it's close. So if you want to move up the field and get big plays? MH & Nabers are your guys. If you want to score TDs in the RZ, Odunze will likely be leaps and bounds better.

Im gonna go on a limb and say hes at best a #2 wr in the NFL. I dont see enough speed or separation. seems more of a contested catch possession wr. I think he should be drafted in 2nd - 3rd realistically. Keon Coleman is similar player who runs a 4.6 and i see Coleman with more separation and hes borderline 1st rd guy who prob is better place in rd 2. I would draft Nabers, Harrison, Thomas, and Leggette over Odunze in a second

Why is all the talk about separation when there are numerous ways WRs could be useful and good in the nfl. Like leap into the air to take the ball out of the sky in the back corner of the end zone is just as important today, or no?
Isnt that a way that Odunze could translate into the nfl quite easily?
Guess it is just me thinking of other ways a wr can be dominant besides speed or separation and seeing that in Odunze
I think he will be pretty good out of the gates and also has room to improve.
I think certain teams would benefit from Nabers more. And vice versa
The Giants have a very short nfl wr room imo. They have basically a 6 ft room that isn't about going up and getting contested big catches. And probably won't have a qb that can zip that it into the extra yard of separation window for an easy completion. That team would benefit from Odunze more imo.
At the end of the day, any team that gets to draft the top 3 of MHJ Nabers Odunze, will be ecstatic

  • @MattPeters80

It is fair to say that Odunze's absence of stellar separation could get him to fall into the teens a little bit. I find it hard to believe there's 3 teams inside the top 10 willing to use their pick on a WR. Odunze is the clear odd man out because contested catch guys who have separation concerns historically have bigger bust potential. I like Odunze, but he needs to turn his concern into a strength. I know he can separate and has all the cutting ability to be a great route runner, but I think he plays a little too finesse for his size with a, as you said, fairly basic understanding of route running. I want to see him use his hands more to create separation during routes. He currently only uses his hands to separate at the last second. You have to constantly manage the DBs hands or he'll be there grabbing all game long. He let's DBs hand guard and anchor onto him without contest. He runs routes like he's a 4.3 guy, when he's just a 4.45 guy. Give him some Michael Thomas and Demaryius Thomas tape and let him grow into playing bigger on his routes. Those guys never let DBs put hands on them without a fight. RIP to a legend.
