- Creating Working Gears for laser Cutting Using lightburn Software Only Easy Tutorial and outcome, A gear is a rotating circular machine part having cut teeth or, in the case of a cogwheel or gearwheel, inserted teeth (called cogs), which mesh with another (compatible) toothed part to transmit (convert) torque and speed. The basic principle behind the operation of gears is analogous to the basic principle of levers.[1] A gear may also be known informally as a cog. Geared devices can change the speed, torque, and direction of a power source. Gears of different sizes produce a change in torque, creating a mechanical advantage, through their gear ratio, and thus may be considered a simple machine. The rotational speeds, and the torques, of two meshing gears differ in proportion to their diameters. The teeth on the two meshing gears all have the same shape.[2]
Two or more meshing gears, working in a sequence, are called a gear train or a transmission. The gears in a transmission are analogous to the wheels in a crossed, belt pulley system. An advantage of gears is that the teeth of a gear prevent slippage. In transmissions with multiple gear ratios-such as bicycles, motorcycles, and cars-the term "gear" (e.g., "first gear") refers to a gear ratio rather than an actual physical gear. The term describes similar devices, even when the gear ratio is continuous rather than discrete, or when the device does not actually contain gears, as in a continuously variable transmission.[3]
Furthermore, a gear can mesh with a linear toothed part, called a rack, producing translation instead of rotation.
Nice!
Appreciate you sharing and your comprehension of capability with what can be done with and through Lightburn. Thank you.
Thank you for this! Just what I was looking for.
awesome glad i could help :D
Thank you for taking the time to create and share this- I enjoyed your video and pushing me to utilize Lightburn even more than I do.
Glad it was helpful! thank you for watchin
Very cool. Great information for light burn. Thanks.
Thanks for this video buddy, really new to laser engraving and wanting to make some gears so this was well helpful !
Cheers Bruv! Also just been working on these too in the last few days , here is sunny Devon, making box door latches.
This is so helpful! I spent hours creating a sunburst in Lightburn because it didn’t occur to me to use the array tool!!!
Awesome, glad i could help thanks for watching
Know what I'm doing wrong but it will not make other teeth around the circle
if you shift click the tooth first and then the circle it should work
Nice video, but you really should put out the sponge of your mouth while speaking, bro.
i got a better mic now and i have tried to fix the mumbling a bit :D check my more recent videos and it should be a bit better, crappy public school's will do that to you.
@@carphotography Wonderful, thank you. :)
First, you don't deserve to learn from this man. Just before I read your comment I was thinking how nice it was not to have someone overly excited and all pumped up sharing what they share. Kinda reminds me of the You suck at Photoshop guy, which I really liked. Then you came along with your comment... bro. If you knew who your parents were I'm sure they'd be so "proud" of you.
@@TheOtherMisterRogers So your parents told you to be "the man" that has to judge about things someone deserve, Mr. Andrew Advocat? You got the sponge in hour head, right?
