Remarkable and revealing to come back and watch this with the benefit of hindsight.
Tiger literally remade the game, he single handedly created a whole new generation of players who wanted to emulate him. He's the reason why
the tour is so deep in talent now and why it's so hard to win tournaments. Every week is almost like a lottery, anybody in the field can win, and it was not like that in 1997 or before. Everything has gotten better, even the announcing. And it is all due to this man.

Agreed. There are many situations like this in sports and in other venues that some don’t like or even hate the person performing. However, no matter what you think of the man, Tiger Woods, off the golf course, it’s crazy to deny his talent on the course. Talent has nothing to do with his personality or behavior. How can you deny that talent when the greatness of that talent is right there in front of you.
A “bad person” off the course is completely different from his golfing ability on the course.

Yeah Augusta is still a great course but it’s absolutely not the course it used to be, it retains some features of a “second shot golf course” but these days driving accuracy is far more important. It’s like the Masters and the US Open decided to swap identities, as the US Open under mike Davis has totally changed the focus away from driving accuracy
