The Offspring have done tonnes of different styles of music and rocked them all! This is what truly talented bands can do, they can write and perform in different styles and make it work, not having to depend on chewing the cud like so many main streamers.
When I was 13, I was diagnosed with dysthymia, a form of depression that was likely inherited from my mom, who also has this. The signs had been there for about six months, but I never got help. I've grown up as a child prodigy in my valley, and no one really knows that, despite my accomplishments, I feel nothing. I hate myself even though I've done so much. This is why I love this song. It's like The Offspring just read my mind with A Lot Like Me. I get why some people dislike this song, but to me, it's one of the best pieces of music that ever came out of this amazing band.
How old are you now? I'm 12 and I have anxiety and a intense form of depression that led me to cut myself very recently might have schizophrenia too, so I agree that this song is amazing in so many ways, and I can totally relate to it on many fronts
... and passionate song. My hat's way, way off to them. True punk rock means not being afraid to rebel even against the genre's rules and stereotypes, itself. This is one of the gutsiest musical movements since Johnny Cash.
I love this album. You often read that bands have evolved and grown, but I feel with this album Offspring really did just that. A perfect mix of old 'real' offspring like songs and different stuff like Kristy, are you doing ok? This song is a perfect example if you wonder how the album sounds. Offspring was always great, but a bit monotune, they chanced that with this album.
I grew up with punk music, and no, this song isn't "punk," however it's brilliant because a punk band pulled it off with such passion and emotion rather than just "shutting up and staying hardcore because the hardcore masses want it that way." Writing just one genre of music (as well as listening to just one genre) is very crippling to one's creativity and mind expansion. As far as I'm concerned, The Offspring blew the LID off of being pigeonholed into a small corner of music with this powerful
This is my favorite offspring album. I love smash and Americana and Ixnay don't get me wrong, but this one showed so much evolution in their sound. They didn't change their sound at all, but they absolutely evolved it in such a brilliant way.
this reminds me about linkin park, I love it, it doesn´t matter if they try something more, I LOVE THEM!!! FOR EVER, FOR EVER EVER EVER!!!! I have a doubt, someone know if they are gonna travel arround the world this year including Mexico?
lol i listen all album of offspring and i must say the song is great... nothing is better as smash, but songs after smash not all bad.. and this one is great, more as great...
@DoctorWhosBabe There was a few people earlier on that said that they sounded like Linkin Park. I am with you. I just personally think Linkin Park is a better band and more unique. But no they don't sound anything alike.
Well, i really don't thnk that, it's just an evolution, i mean... yes, in RAFRAG there are some bad songs, but, on the other hand, there are others that are pretty, pretty freshy for an Offspring fan. New scales, the use of harmonies, a most produced album, i really doubt this is their end.
Hey!!! This is one of there most AMAZING songs!!!! I have a band and we r doing the cover of this!!!! Other awesome songs by them are: you're gonna go far kid, and nothingtown!! XDDDD
@rizz0rs666 I know its just my opinion, I have nothing against The Offspring at all. I just happen to like Linkin Park better, and someone else compared them, I don't think they sound anything alike, and agree they are into different genres.
@Daniel62593 because you want every album to sound the same??? or you dont want the band to grow musically?? IF THE REST OF THE ALBUM IS THIS GOOD, its awesome... PERIOD..... and WAYYY better than Linkin hasbeen...
