There are GOOD reasons why everybody else paints theirs with bright, VISIBLE colours. It's for SAFETY... I'm surprised an agency with the acronym SPSA didn't think of this...
Leaving the yellow and red to white made it more visible against the usually green canopy as the bird dog is usually above the tankers looking down. There should have a been a bright contrast of red or orange but in the fall that gets blended in with a fall colours canopy.
Why couldn’t they identify CANADA on it? Separatists! (I read that in the comments of another video about another CL215 from another province. Thought it was fitting to post the same here!) 🫤
In the late 80s when these were first delivered the federal government had a deal on price and they “bought” the first 2 and they had to say Canada on the side. Sk bought the next 2 and they did not say Canada. All tankers are now owned by the province so there is no requirement to say Canada anymore.
Fly Safe!
Same type alberta owns, CL215T , my favorite aircraft, a real Beast, now made in Calgary by dehavilland canada as the CL515.

Awesome investment.
Was a CL215 converted to CL215T as original engines were getting scarce. Also, some other upgrades included. Great video.
Series 5 machines were converted from piston to turbine. Issues of fuel, reliability and usefulness of the airframe

Whose idea was it to paint it white? Good grief!
Usually seen in a YELLOW and red livery, this CL-215 was painted WHITE, in honour of Politicians’ favourite type of Elephant.
Kind of a stupid remark.
