Just because its Powers,
We hit 69 NICE.
Austin Powers ALL the way!
Yeah, a lot of actors have played James Bond over the years, 7 to be exact: Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. And yes, Austin Powers is a parody of not just those films but the genre.
We do not talk about Lazenby. EVER.
I could walk by all of them and have no idea
@@theduckgoesmoo More recently in the late 90's they shifted the "feel" of the bond movies, the older ones are more camp, with a secret agent licensed to kill, gentleman of class with a one liner for when he finishes off the badguy or their often iconic henchmen, usually by making them fall for their own trap. The spygear was fantastical with hidden explosives built into a fountain pen or a mini laser for cutting through steel built into a wristwatch, poisoned stundarts launched from a fake box of matches and of course jetpacks and other things they really did not have the technology to make for real back in the day... Why they even had portable phones! The more modern ones try to do away with the silly kitch and 'go hard' for the gritty spy theme, to portray Bond himself as a tragic character who's more broken and damaged by living a life as an agent with a literal license to kill where the old movies had him basically be a heroic figure (who killed the badguys).
Naturally the fanbase is somewhat divided with some prefering the old school bond and others prefer the more 'realistic' take on the character and so on. Deff recommend you make a marathon out of watching the things thou... most should be well into the public domain along with their music I figure and many are classics for a reason.
@@chefbreccia2642 Why On Her Majesty's Secret Service kicks ass?
We definitely talk about lazenby
I like the line “I like to swing, but Dr. No means no baby”
Dr. No was a villain in one of the bond movies
Also even tho Austin is horny almost always, he refused to do anything with Vanessa in the first movie when she was drunk saying it wasn’t right. It’s actually quite interesting that he had such good morals to know that she wasn’t in the right state of mind and he refused.
Dr. No was the first james bond movie.
in one of the first few films, i think Gold Finger, he rapes a lesbian in the barn. She says no like 5 times, he pins her down and forces himself on her. Then romantic music plays and it cuts to afterwards. Hence the "I like to swing but (Dr) No means No, Baby"
Look, Austin may not have 'won', but he was having fun, which is the spirit of his movies. Which means he's winning
Like for Daniel Craig
Austin Powers is a parody of James Bond. Dr. Evil is based on 007's arch-nemesis, including him having a pet cat on his lap. A good number of his underlings was based on alot 007's old foes from the 60s.
Austin Powers is one of the best performances in ERB History
even the batman performance? XD
I believe that's the actual actor who played the younger Austin Powers in a flashback in Goldmember.
KUDOS to Kyle for playing the video all the way to the end.
The instrumental in this battle is one of my favorites in all of ERB.
It's common for actors to stand on a box to alter their heights. I think most of time to get their eye line to within close range to each other. These are called apple boxes, with a full apple being 8", then you have half/quarter/pancake at 4/2/1".
In the X-Files Gillian Anderson(Skully)'s and David Duchovny(Mulder)'s heights were so far off Gillian's "Scully Box/Gillyboard" as it became known was an apple and a half, or 12''/1'.
This battle was groovy, baby.
8:50 I'm pretty sure you're around my age, but goddamn that just made me feel old. That may be one of the most zoomer sentences I've heard in a little bit.
holy crap, me too! I never thought I'd hear someone ask that xD (this is the iphone age so i understand but yeah that exists alright!)
Guys…. I was literally wearing wired headphones lol but yes I miss the days of the headphone jack
This is a battle of the Bonds to me honestly
Just be prepared, the next battle is the one that is near universally agreed to be the worst one they ever made.
which one was that?
Banner vs Jenner? It's not that bad. Yes the last verse drags on too long, but the first half of the battle is great.
Maybe let him make up his own mind about it before setting him up for disappointment, Bruce Jenner vs Bruce Banner is still better than most Season One battles.
@@VinVonVoom I never said it was my own opinion, I was saying that it is the general consensus that it's the worst one.
@@KenTheNoun I never said it was your opinion either?
I pretty much always give the win to anyone that basically ends the round saying that they only need a single round or won in a few bars.
“I only need one round, golden gun” is just far too cold of a line to not give him the win
So James Bond originated in novels by Ian Fleming. Think of the common perception of Bond; suave, debonair, ruthlessly efficient.
Bond in the book is NONE of those things. He's a racist, sexist, alcoholic thug. He's like Archer only not played for laughs.
Sean Connery was the first actor to play him and they toned most of that down, but misogyny and "rapey" undertones are still all over his films, to a degree that it even made Connery uncomfortable to play. And considering stuff Connery said during his lifetime about women, that's saying something!
Day One Hundred and forty Eight of asking for a reaction to Max0r's "An Incorrect Summary of Metal Gear Rising"
Loved the video! But one question, will you be watching more avgn?
Yep!
Honestly, despite Austin not getting his fair share, he was honestly the best performance and still did incredibly with what he had so I'll go with him
You Should do Jeff Besoes vs Mansamusa Next
He's reacting to them in chronological order
When i get an a notification it will i mean i will check this and then see my comments
Daniel Craig, the latest Bond,is brittish. Sean Connery was scottish (saying was, because Sean Connery passed away a year ago, i believe). Pierce Brosnan is Irish and Roger Moore is brittish as well. :) George Lazenby is australian and Timothy Dalton is also brittish. :) Mike Myers is canadian. :) there's some fun fact for ya. :) also, i believe it's canon that James Bond is scottish...🤔
Connery died on Halloween 2020.😢
Sean Connery won. Hands down.
Austin wins for me, because he was there to just have fun and he did ;p
The guy in the white suit was the original james bond
i will say i liked austin powers 3 goldmember it was funny jut like the first 2 lol people say it sucks like any of those movies were meant to be masterpieces lol
day 86 of asking for a martincitopants reaction
Bond loses when he takes a 2nd round.
James Bond vs Austin Powera vs James Bond
Winner: Movie Industry
OG James Bond was Scottish that was Shuan
There's a lot you don't know duck.
Understatement of the motherflappin' _eon._
Personally I would suggest Austin Powers movie 1 and 3. I think they are good and funny, though 2 has some good jokes it is a bit more gross or not as good to me. But eh maybe others could suggest it.
Day 28 of asking for infernoplus cursed halo reaction
There are currently 26 James Bond films from 1962 - 2021
Austin Powers was a parody of 007 movies. Dr. Evil is a parody of Blowfeld, same look and attire.
Q is a character in the James Bond films and novelisations. Q is the head of Q Branch, the fictional research and development division of the British Secret Service charged with oversight of top secret field technologies.
Thunderball was a James Bond book adapted twice: Thunderball (1965) and Never Say Never Again (1983)
Sean Connery was the first James Bond

*Homage, not parody.
Is warhammer still in the list?😢
Of course!
OG james bond wins in my book ^^
Anyone who thinks either Bond won is lying to themself. XD
There’s no way Austin won.
Daniel Craig slayed in this battle.
If it was just between the Bonds, Sean Connery would have won no contest.
The problem is that both of them are up against Austin Powers.
Is there anything this guy knows? Like im legit scared.
Mike Meyer's father was a huge fan of The James Bond films, so he and Mike would watch them together.
That is why Austin Powers exists.
