Because I was planning to tape it down the hardboard for painting. If any of the paint extended to the edge, I didn't want tape there and would leave a white line. Hope that makes sense! :)

Could you do this the other way around could you paint let it dry and then Stampin and Embossed
You could, but I wanted to see what area I had to work with. I didn't want the watercoloring extending too far past the images.
