You know I really hope that they change legislation on this kind of stuff and start charging people for their rescue people need to be financially liable when they go out there or they can stay out there we do not need to risk our lives to save them and then pay the bill on top of it as taxpayers these people need to be responsible for their own lives
This might just be among the dumbest misgivings about the nature of S and R operations in the United States. I guarantee you would change your tune if you found yourself (or maybe your family, not sure about that) in a situation requiring rescue assets. That's one of the incredibly valuable and important services that your tax dollars pay for. Or would you be among the first to voluntarily line up to sacrifice your loved ones if they were to find themselves in a life threatening situation outside of their control? Really glad I'm not a member of your clan is about all I can say.
Agreed. S &R risk their own lives and limbs to rescue dummies like these who go off-trail and put themselves in peril. It's different with accidents, but THIS? Pay up.
Many search and rescue operations do send a bill, depending on where you are. I used to do a lot of whitewater kayaking and rafting. My friends that I usually went with took a trip down a big river, capsized and got stranded on a rock in the middle of the river. S&R deemed them negligent and charged them $25k for the rescue operation. I’m glad I sat that one out.
Not many 60 year old men taking selfies. Probably just overestimated his abilities and forgot he’s not a young man anymore. But yes, a total moran either way.
There’s no cure for it…
Hats off to those who risk life and limb in order to rescue others.
Rhanks to the rescue team ✝️🙏💜

For sure, really dumb post.

Wouldn’t BASE jumping be quicker for the rescue 😂😂😂
Stupid is as stupid does.
What a moran. Let's guess... for a selfie?
