check out Qoushik's Mini Track Services mod. It lets you plop station tracks that act like fully functional cargo stations, and the mod doesn't even need Asset Packs Manager (at least in my case)
I think a lot of your frustration with the game is just that your population is too low - it’s still a town-sized population but you’re building infrastructure for a megalopolis. Get those numbers up and there will be more cims on the map to use the infrastructure
To increase traffic at your harbor: 1. increase minimum taxi fair to 50$ 2. Reduce ship prices to free 3. Increase prices on any outside connection public transport options 4. Removes outside bus connections and connect youre harbor areas to destinations within the city
I think the reason companies aren't moving in is because you don't have enough specialized industries. Without them, companies will have to import raw materials to manufacture, and it would be too expensive, so they don't move in. The cost of importing is also higher, because there is no direct access from the highway and the import trucks will have to go farther to get there, which makes the cost higher.
shouldn’t the busses pull through the stop? that way they exit along the same path as the taxis. also, this is a fairly big infrastructure undertaking… but I would expect the industry to have been there first and the cruise ship port to be fairly new. If that’s the case then I could easily see an off ramp from the highway going underground and popping up just for the cruise ship port to deliver people to and from that. This is primarily because you would NOT want to have civilian vehicles using the same road that all these trucks and 18 wheelers are using and slowing everything down. Coming direct from the highway makes the connection much more efficient as well… which will encourage the CS2 cims to use it more. Lastly, this just popped into my head… but the cruise line could be called: Centennial Cruise Line CCL More of a QE2 high end cruise line rather than a Royal Caribbean.
Hey rail guy here- in your fiddle/ holding yard make a run around track just connecting the far siding back to the main junction. Allows engines to go from the front of the train to the back
Great video as always but if i could say something a highway connection is a big piece of infrastructure currently missing, nobody can access either the new industrial area or adjacent suburbs by highway because the closest connection is at the cbd! I would say that one connection / exit would definitely be necessary but honestly even two would be ideal. Just my suggestion!
Yea, tourism is broken, so you won’t have much traffic by sea, air, or even road (outside connections that are not transit). The post sorting, and even the industry are broken as well at the moment, as delivery truck are not used by industry. A solution is to disable - through policies - heavy traffic so a lot of delivery trucks are sent, or just wait for CO to fix all that. And for the bus path thingy, you can also add waypoints by dragging out a point on your road outside of the stops (like how you would drag out a stop, but not connecting the point to the stop). With carefully places waypoints, you can circumvent the wonky pathfinding mechanism
I have 400 tourists monthly without even trying tho. made 40k a month from it at one point. but no hotel rooms. I have 2 trucks grabbing goods for my dock. Probably not need much more atm. I have semi trucks going into post facility. it actually pretty busy. and it are semi trucks owned by cargo harbor. Delivery vans going out of it owned by the facility. I see delivery vans owned by named industry.
As a registered and fully honored trainguy with a foamer PHD , the tracks look industrial , tho there would be some cross connections (in this for decoration) aswell as some few extra yards especially on the bundeling points
Loving this build. For that bus terminal custom entrance, first, the paths you placed were 2 way, you could do one way to force an entrance and exit. Also you can just add waypoints to the bus path to force the path to were you want.
Dont forget to connect to the highway! Industry in real life exists in the places it does because of its connectivity! It definitely needs at least 1 good highway connection, if not more. Would love to see a massive complex interchange where the current two bridges meet with additionall on and offramps. It will definitely also increase traffic in the area as you'd also get some through traffic whereas right now its a bit of a dead end with no businesses even there.
17:00 😃 OH you should make one of the lines the ‘Holland America Line’, which used to be the line from Rotterdam to NYC. Now it’s a big company with many cruises, but that’s their origin.
This area will look so good when finished, can’t wait. Do the streets already have street lighting, esp. around the post sorting facility? Feels like the place that’d operate at night so could really elevate the detail
Same I can’t wait to see it all complete! I’m not sure if there’s lights I haven’t seen it at night haha. Some big lights in the industrial yards would be great fur detail
For the cruise terminal you could call it the Port of New Dollarton Passenger Terminal. The name would reflect how it is in New York where the port itself is not in New York, it's entirely on the Jersey side. Also, maybe the it could serve Royal Oceanian, MMSC (Marble Mountain Shipping Company), and Funfair Cruise Lines.
ok not bad, but i think one main cargo station with 4 additional buildings get 30t of goods and from that you create few lines from main cargo station to small cargo stations so in this way smaller traffic and make more stance in logistic way :) also you need industry or commercial so that can use that routes :)
The trash build-up could actually indicate you are missing road connections to the buildings. I ran into that one with some of my farms. As soon as I fixed the connection issue, the garbage was picked up and more trucks with goods would also leave.
@@invention64 The weird thing when I ran into my issue was that there were no indications that any road connection were missing. It was only after I re-drew the road that trash was picked up again.

1. The Buses will take the right way if u add a waypoint. 2. city planner plays got some custom train cargo staition by a moder, maybe u can grab them too
I recall you asking a name for your Manhattan part of the city yet to be built, and I think it should be called Mint-hattan, because mint is popularly used to refer to money
Hey, I think the problem with industry not moving in is that what you've placed down are warehouses. When zoned these only plopp up when there's enough manufacturing/specialized industry to produce the goods stored. So you might need more of that. Love the built tho!
Hey, there's a mod that removed the traffic dillution. Since CS2 removed a percentage of vehicles as the city grows. This should increase traffic in the entire build. It also has a scale to fine tune how many cars spawn. You should give it a go! I think it's called Traffic Reduction Remover or something alike.
The city looks great! Just a tip, the buses would most likely not use a built-up terminal especially at a cruise hub, but would use a little concrete loop like at 16 St, Maplewood, and West orange. Otherwise it would stop in a parking lot like at Jersey Gardens Mall.
Fantastic Mate! Harbor looks similar to Newcastle airport haha. The game seems like it has come a long way, super glad to see what you can do with it now :D keep it up mate!
I know this is not related to the industrial area, but maybe consider subways for your densely populated areas and especially once your version of manhattan comes around? I mean more choices of public transport can't hurt right
16:50 i recommend naming the port/cruise line/shipyard (or whatever lore you pick) as "Magnificent"/"The Magnificent"/"Le Magnifique". irl, the new jersy shipyard was in a city named after Phillip Kearney. A wealthy lieutenant in the early 1800's. He earned the nickname "Kearny the Magnificent/Kearny le Magnifique" while studying cavalry tactics in french Algeria due to his "bravery" (i feel like its a gentle-mocking or inside-joke kind of honorific).

I've had issues with companies moving into industry buildings too. But it's only the warehouse/storage buildings. I think they have some kind of hidden demand that is separate from manufacturing buildings. If you think about it though, why would a city need to store goods in a storage building if the manufacturing buildings and cargo terminals all have internal storage?
I can't wait to see what sort of traffic chaos you create with custom roads using the roadbuilder mod. I can see some interesting applications for disused railway lines running down a street.
I wonder if the garbage full issue at the Sorting Office is the cause of no vehicles. I know when garbage piles up at a Power Station, you get huge problems with producing power. Maybe the same thing for Sorting Office and other buildings

Hi, I think you forgot to upload the New Dollarton map on Paradox Mods, because I can only find it on the Thunderstore. Btw I love your videos, and I get inspired all the time😀
I think it doesn't function cause your road is not aligned with that entry onto the facility. You have it angled over the corner of the facility. It one of the reason I barely place anything with anarchy XD
I have to say - I really struggle to understand putting so much effort into building a custom station that doesn't actually work. Especially when you believe the tools to build one that DOES work, are on their way.
You're placing warehouses and not factories. I think (though I'm not totally sure) that warehouses are leased out by the companies that lease out factories. Even when a company buys a warehouse, it doesn't have employees. It's a storage space. To get industry going, I think you'll need more factories.
For custom cargo I THINK you need to include some storage for it. City planner or Biffa got some smaller specialized cargo stations assets as well iirc. Edit: found it, CPP's MC #31 he talks about it at the start. Also, having that passenger port isolated in that heavy industrial area doesn't really make much sense to me lol both in-game and irl. All the ones I've seen tend to split cargo/fishing to the outskirts and passengers closer to the city and/or touristy spots.
Name the passenger ship lines after the connecting city they go to, E.g. if their destination is a town called Melbourne, call it the Melbourne Cruiseliner or something like that
im pretty sure you can make that cargo port warehouse extension functional by first placing the main building, then adding the extension and using anarchy to move it outside the circle the placement area/blue circle.
My name suggestions for the cruise ship terminal and the cruise line: Terminal: Hough's Neck Passenger Ship Terminal Cruise Line: Redbridge Cruises Hough's Neck after the peninsula the terminal landfill is added on to, and Redbridge after the bridge spanning the gap from the bay to the sea.
