- Hi Folks,
I had the fortune to go out on a hike and camp with Warren at the beginning of the year. Both of us were sporting the OEX Rakoon 2.1, as well as bringing Trangia cook-sets (well, I brought one, Warren brought the rest of the shop!)
We pitched just as the light was fading and managed to make a sheltered space between the two tents as the clag rolled in... Fortunate, and it did make out little set up look like a shanty town, but hey, we blended in!
Dinner was immense (size as well as enjoyment), as was breakfast (I was planning on waddling, not walking back!) But a good time was had by all... Looking forward to the next adventure!
Thanks for watching!
James

That's the most pots and pans outside a tent I've ever seen!
Nice trip. Looked a lovely morning.

TOO MANY POTS!!!
To be fair, it worked better than I thought it would (plus it tasted amazing!). Maybe next time we're out I'll do something similar (you deserve a night off kitchen duty! 🤣)
Cheers mate 👍🏻
James 🙏💚
And I thought the dinner was nice, then came the breakfast 🍳
Both were fantastic... And filling!! 8 don't think I walked back in the morning... It was more of a wobble! 🤣 Cheers for watching! ATB, James 🙏 💚
That's a lot of trangia's, great to see them in use doing proper cooking, that looks like a right feast 👍👍👍
Oh, good grief... It was fantastic (washing up wasn't fun though!) still prefer real food over dehydrated... Now I own a trangia set, there's going to be more real cooking on the horizon! Cheers! James 🙏 💚
To be so far out, and have a good proper quiet is the best. So worth it.
It's not often down this way you can find it... There's normally A roads always somewhere near! 🙏💚
@@SussexOutdoors yep, it's hardly ever that quiet here. But there is a place we went the other day; it was so nice
Great vid, James. Twin Rakoons, quad burners, beers, augmented hot choc, proper brekkie, great tarp improv. What’s not to like? Looked a beautiful, quiet spot. Thanks and all the best.
Cheers Chris, was an awesome camp, and the augmented got choc settled me down a treat! Cheers for joining! 🙏💚
Awesome camp. Loving the kitchen setup 👌. Just needs the kitchen sink lol.
I've got one of those (well, it's a collapsible bucket)... Didn't bring enough water for it on this trip though! 🤣. Thanks for following along! James 🙏 💚
It is good to see retirees having fun and enjoying life, well done sirs, keep up the good work, that will keep you young at heart!
I've still got a way to go before I become a retiree, but Warren's earned the badge with honours! 🤣
Cracking video, proper grub, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Cheers CJ! Sending all the best to you, the missus, and the little one! Will shout you soon for a meet up at some point mate! 👍🏻
I’ve not used my new Trangia I got for Xmas yet.. this has given me few ideas. Cheers guys
Do it... It may be bulky, but it's the best damn thing for real cooking! Worth its weight in gold!. Cheers for following along. James 🙏 💚
Oh what a good camp we had there James - I had forgotten the full breakfast we had as well. An excellent video record of a top rated night out. Cheers, Warren :)
That truly was a cracking adventure, (not including the u filmed early morning cyclists!) looking forward to seeing your take on it! All the best, James 🙏 💚
Brilliant stuff lads the food looked fantastic leave me more than half next time James 😂👍
I'll try! 🤣
Great hike out, that definitely was a breakfast of kings, my words exactly when I saw it and I don't envy if need be cleaning all those pots and pans after, liked and subbed
To be fair, the grass around helped get most of the soot off the bottom of everything... Eating out of the frying pan did the trick to loosen the BCB's (Burnt Crunchy Bits) and the whole set plus cutlery and cups were cleaned with only 300ml of hot water (and a sponge!). All the best, James 🙏 💚
that is good bushcrafting👍@@SussexOutdoors
Great video again James, loved the grub mate, proper camping food that and what a breakfast! I always take my trangia 27 out with me, I absolutely love it. See you on the next one pal 👐
Cheers Paul! That was it's christening... First time I've cooked using the set... Really lovely bit of kit! Cheers for following along mate! 👍🏻
👍👍👍⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️👍👍👍
Another great vid James, looked a great trip out, company, food, fine weather, etc...👍 Nice tasty evening meal & then that was an impressive big breakfast that U cooked up there...!😄😋 But I guess U both walked it off, on the way back to the Pub...!🤣 Perfect way to end the trip...!👊
Cheers dude, slept well as had a belly full of food... Walked slower in the morning for the same reason... Not sure if the pint at the end helped... It got me home quicker to be fair... 🤣
ATB, 🙏💚
Sausage and mash for tea then! That looked so good! Im trying that gravy mix 😊
Thank you for following along!
2 teaspoons of cheap beef granules, same with cheap chicken ones, a heaped teaspoon of bisto best chicken, and as much fresh black pepper as you'd like... Should make just shy of a pint of delicious gravy! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
another good vid bro , 👍 i know people who cldnt cook like that in the house,😂😂well done James
Cheers Matt, real food is so much nicer than the dehydrated stuff (even if you have to carry more weight out there!) You could have rolled me down that hill after those two meals! 🙏💚
That set up looked awesome
How dare you use my catchphrase lol (character building) 😂😂 and that secret ingredient is awesome best hot chocolate iv ever had.
How dare I? I learned from the best!!! Take something good and run w8th it! We'll be out for a camp soon! (and I'll cook!) 🤣
that's one of the best ones you've put out. Like the drone footage - was that the one I passed on or did you invest in a new one? 😀 Nice country you were walking through.❤
Unfortunately the drone you gave me was (and is still) flight only, no video, but it did give me my flying wings, and got me used to the controls, so I still have it, când Happy to take it down the park for a run around! As for the video, I'm glad you enjoyed! There was so much footage, I couldn't fit it all in, I'm glad you enjoyed the edit! 👍🏻🙏💚
Gained a new subscriber. Great content!!
Thank you for finding my litrle corner of the Internet! Glad you enjoyed!
All the best, James 🙏 💚
Are you to restaurant chefs ??? Have fun stay safe.
I used to be one many many years ago... These days... Just for fun! Cheers for watching! 🙏 💚
Just subscribed, awesome !
I grew up in Henley and worked at the Duke for 6 years in my teens/ 20's. Miss the place and the people ! funny seeing this come up on RUclips
Next time your down there. There is Some great woodland if you walk down the lane by the old phone box and take the path down there on the left through the narrow hedge row!
Thank you! Both Warren and I had said that we wanted to come back to this spot to do a different hike, and you've just provided the initial plans! It's a beautiful part of the country and looking forward to heading back there... So glad you enjoyed tagging along with us!
Cheers, James 🙏 💚
