KickStart this. Get all the animators together. If what could be done in reconstructing this trailer is possible, then so is completing the movie. Maybe split it into two parts. Or three. With what there was to work with in re-animating the original trailer, making an entire movie is possible.
Well, if they were able to do the trailer, they could do an entire movie. It's traditional, but what we see here is digital. So, bad news. I'm in a Moebius group on Facebook. A guy who worked for this company when the movie was originaly made, told us that production stopped due to Moebius selling The Dark Incal portion of the story to another company. Not sure where things are today with the ownerships, but that has to do with why we may never get a full length animated movie version. Breaks my heart. :(
This is incredible. When is this coming to the big screen? I will be first in line in my city to see this. I read the original in Heavy Metal Magazine and got the books. I am a huge fan of this work.
Making a cartoon out of the Incal is the easy way out. The graphical style has already been established, so the only thing animators need to do is follow it. On the other hand, making a MOVIE out of the Incal would take some major guts, and that would be the choice with the biggest payoff. Creating environments and costumes that look trippy without looking cheesy. Not limiting oneself to "make stuff that looks like the comic book", but considering the comic book as a stylized, simplified rendition of the "real thing" and asking oneself "What would the real thing look like?"
The film has been green-lit. May the algorithm bless this video.

Space Opera as a genre was around for 35 years before Dune & 50 years before Star Wars.
So, if Star Wars is a rip-off, then so is Dune.
@@chrismaddock598 Georgandro Lucarowsky did the same thing musicians do when they rip-off an old song: He jumbled it around a little...added a couple of reverbs, changed the lyrics a bit.
But "Star Wars" has sooo many Dune-inspired things in it that it's all but an adaptation.
@@johnellizz Space Opera tropes & conventions existed before Dune.
So with your "logic", Frank Herbert merely just ripped off all the Space Opera that preceded it.
You are just echoing the "opinion" of many Tourists & Jack-Of-All-Trades that make the same claim. Seriously you haven't even read dune (let alone any other space operas), which you admitted to, so I'm not going to take your opinion on the matter seriously.
Superb piece of work.
I'm getting some major heavy metal vibes from this. Looks really good.
I never seen this before !!! It’s excellent !!!!
Imma getting HUGE Heavy Metal (animated movie) vibes
1000% would pay to watch this as a full movie/series.
Why hasn't this been completed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The world needs more Moebius-isms !
here after Waitit's announcement. completely new to this but so hyped!!!
KickStart this. Get all the animators together. If what could be done in reconstructing this trailer is possible, then so is completing the movie. Maybe split it into two parts. Or three. With what there was to work with in re-animating the original trailer, making an entire movie is possible.
+Gritnom Really good idea. You think its even possible to do this in the old style of animation? Like in the trailer
***** oo oke, i was reading about some law issues with Dune.
sexmachine-Stay on the scene What version?
I like how they animated Moebius's art
This Looks Amazing, Make a Live Action Version and an Animated Series.
Wow! Se ve excelente. Siguen trabajando en este proyecto?
No, es un fan-made no va a esxistir la película. Mejor Lee el cómic
Bueno, si va a existir la película.
Idk, when I first saw the title, I thought that "Incal" is some another book from Shulgin, a "sequel" to his PIHKAL and TIHKAL books.
This is incredible. When is this coming to the big screen? I will be first in line in my city to see this. I read the original in Heavy Metal Magazine and got the books. I am a huge fan of this work.
I am new to discovering this work but it instantly reminded me of Heavy Metal, thanks for confirming.
We need movie like Dune with Adrien Brody as main caracter
Boring like Dune? No, thanks!
Tata Waikiki is going to direct it, but i think his are live action
I prefer Adam Driverzwhich look like Diffool (really).
This is the best motion comic I've ever seen.
Wow 10 years laterd this is finally doing a leap
I see I have seen this before, 11 years ago (god I'm old); and I'm happy to announce I have since read the book, it's was awesome
Yo this needs to be a full movie adaptation, this trailer is mindblowingly faithful to Moebius Artwork
Without Moebious art it will not be The INCAL, All we will get is this trailer.
This is genius. You made the movie jump right off the page! How do we get this made
Maaaan, I loved this comic book! My fav in highschool! Hope to see an Incal movie one day cause it’s so amazing
amazing work!
This is amazing 💚
As amazing as this would be. A part of me thinks the time for it would have been the early 80s. Contemporary with Heavy Metal.
It would take me ages to watch this film one frame at a time. So fun to look at.
I really prefer this over a live action adaptation.
Here before new INCAL fans discover this... Lucky them!
I never been so hyped for something that has not been made yet! Take my fucking money!!!! Would love to see this done it's gotta happen
