Deion, yeah, BYU doesn't have an ideal number of ball-handlers, but to say Dallin & Dawson (Baker) ain't upper-level D1 ball-handlers isn't fair. Then again, it IS fair to say that Richie, Trev (Knell) & Mag ARE all pretty poor dribblers for off guards. Catchings might be a decent ball handler for 6'9, but against the crowded paint of D1 play, as a Frosh he's certainly not reliable in that role either. In fairness to KY, that IS a problem he inherited more than anything. And it IS a problem he TRIED to recruit outa when he nearly signed Chaz Lanier, & then again when he came even closer to signing ASU's Sanon (who unfortunately was rejected by BYU's admissions -- & therefore signed w Hurley instead). I think Egor, Dallin & Dawson will carry us much better as ball-handlers in another month. It IS something they've been working on. Egor's having his share of struggles with it -- & honestly, I'd call Dallin our most secure ball-handler, though he clearly doesn't open things up nearly as well as Egor -- & against ASU Dallin wasn't as effective at breaking the Devil's perimeter D as Dawson was, either. (Dawson is arguably our most reliable on-ball point-generator -- because he is clearly a more reliable shooter than Demin)
Didn’t feel like a 20 point win? When ASU got 4 turnovers in the start of the second half the game was over lmao
Thank you, love hearing your takes for BYU as its a different perspective from always listening to local media
Bro 20 pieced em and it’s a “fairly convincing win”

KY had to put together this year's roster in a big hurry. He'll be able to fashion next year's roster closer to his preferences.
BYU is still learning to play. They will keep getting better. 🎉
Good start to conference play. Go Cougars!
