The delivery time for the Toyota Corolla cross is currently 6 to 12 months. That was a deal breaker for me. The advertised price of a car is not necessarily what people pay. With the right negotiating skills, a significant discount can be had.
Increase in price over previous model is due to a number of reasons. 1) European car tax of 5% applied. 2) Hybrid drive system now standard and 3) Major increase in onboard technology and driver assist systems ...particularly on GR-Sport and Koba variants.
I had the Gen 1 C-HR Koba and traded it on the new Gen 2 GR-Sport. The two are chalk and cheese in just about every area (including unfortunately price)
Way too expensive. I think this new model may get out sold by the cheaper and more practical Corolla Cross. Toyota may be making a mistake hiking up the price so much. Also, Based on some TV advertising, with these new hybrids replacing the petrol cars to save the planet, they were supposed to be cheaper, yes? Anyway, I don’t like the headlight design. No petrol. No manual. No full size spare. No sale!!

The CVT in the earlier models have issues. They don't carry parts you have to shell out $7500 for a new cvt.

for the same money, you can get Rav 4, Lexus LBX
I own the previous C-HR GR-S version. Have not been tempted to upgrade, especially for that price 😅

The CHR Koba would be worth buying @ 45 K Aussie, at the advertised price of $ 56 K plus within Melbourne, its overpriced by $ 10 K.

The Lexus LBX has very limited rear seat room. That was a deal breaker for me.

I looked very closely at the CH-R but ended up going with the Cross
