You’re not afraid! Great detail. I’ll stay with 35s. 👍👍
Dennis Hilligoss this is all stuff we hit regularly at speed. And if we ripped the fenders off it’s an excuse to upgrade
Proof that a couple of inches goes a long way...😂
Raptor.Tremor 🤣🤣🤣 yeah
Steve M 🤣🤣🤣
That's what she said
@@Wizard_puncher hahahhaha just saw this. Said the same thing
Just a quick way to adjust the fender without cutting, a heat gun will heat up the plastic and you can use something to push and change the inner contour of the inner fender if it still seems to be rubbing! Hope the mod worked out!
Terry Leimonis yeah, that can work on some of the inner bits. But the section next to the fender needs to be moved up no matter what.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad glad to see you got a majority of it taken care of. How do you think it will handle turns? Worried about the lip coming off?
Terry Leimonis turns will definitely rip fenders off at full tuck. But so will 35s really.
Awsome video, shows all the trimming, and the results. You guys are just killing it with the off road video's. Can't wait for the next one! 🖒
Thanks man. Showing folks what I want to see. Lots of advise on 37s but no real world tests so we had to do it
Good job n great team 👍🏽💪🏽
Thanks man
Helio, most of the off road shops are running 800+ spring rates. I know Eibach and Geiser are both less than that. Just throwing it out there.
Barok yeah, springs will play a big part. We wanted to try this with the most common config out there and more folks will use eibach springs than anything else. Geiser I think could help a lot, but not sure if I want to do Geisers or go to the next level up
Great vid my man. Now if I could only find 36's, I wouldnt have to worry. Although I think 37" KM3's are about 36 anyway, although they look bigger than the Terras in your vid
Neil Castelli KM3s are barrow but overall I think they are a true 37. As long as you get the ones that say 37s
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I like me tall n skinny...lol
Great content for real testing!!!
Thanks man
Hey why not just take the liner out all together? Does it really protect that much? If it's just dirt and dust what about like a spray on foam? Not familiar at all with the Fords but I would love to know what you think.
Look at all the cables inside the liners. Specially on the passenger side. Those are the main harnesses for the truck. You damage that with a rock or on a muddy run and your truck is gone.
You also need to consider what will happen at full tuck. I’ve seen guys zip tie the harness only to rip them off in a hard hit and almost disable their truck. Too much of a risk and it’s better to have them. Specially if you will ever see mud or any rocks. Offroad you will always see both
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Thanks for responding. I'll have to check if mine has all the cables in the same spot.
That was hard work but a better result. Thanks for putting your truck through this. True testing and reporting. Question what camera are you using where it turns in a bubble?
Paul Newman i use an IPhone and GoPro Max to get all my shots.
What about marking the fenders with white or silver paint pens to see where, if any, the rubbing is?
Minh Tran the rubbing is very obvious. You can hear it and see it on the fenders and the tires
lots of fender covers on craigslist if you mess up lol
Ed Meyer 🤣🤣 yeah, I looked. If I messed up the plan was to order nee +2 fenders
Hey brotha love the vids and new subscriber but how tall are your 37 km3s? Are they 35.6 tall? I’m thinking of buying some since they run smaller than most. I have a 3.0 fox mid travel kit with glass you think I’ll rub
Not sure on the height. But the KM3s are taller than the Terra grappler G2 37s
Even a mid travel kit will rub if you don’t do any trimming. You definitely have to do the pinch welds.
At least you did it the right way after a bunch of testing. Still think best would be to save up and do it right with the correct suspension / fenders. Obviously, MUCH more expensive. However, honestly, the things I can do and the things you can do are not very different. That two inches won't make a difference. The look is just more badass.
My2017Raptor yeah, challenges is always budget. Fenders could have been easier but way more costly and require more down time. And yes suspension and everything else is needed and we will be working our way there. Saving up to get all that stuff and do it right
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I agree brother. I love what you're doing. You are a smart dude. Enjoy that thing and if your in socal, let's get together and have some fun.
Hell yeah man. Let’s make it happen. I out most weekend playing in the desert somewhere.
Any thoughts on Fox 3.0 (or equivalent Kings)? Being able to tune them could eliminate that last bit of rubbing, no? Perhaps not necessarily the cheapest option though. I know you mention looking at new shocks at the end so maybe this is a spoiler? haha
Chad D upgraded shocks with a proper tune and pre-load can go a long way to help reduce the rubbing. I’m looking at options with Icon, Fox or king. I also want to upgrade the Upper control arms and make the whole setup more reliable. So lots of research as well as checking with others experience.
Can you correct the speedometer
Yeah you can using ForScan.
Would it be easier to just remove the liner completely? When I installed fiberglass fenders I also lost the plastic liners in the process and in doing so I gained at least 2-3” of extra room. Sure the engine gets dirtier, but pressure washers are a thing.
ABDdrummer you can but I would not recommend it. Both sides have a ton of thin sensitive cables and wire harness. With the amount of damage I have in my fenders from sand blasting and mud, I personally would not run without fender liners. All it takes is 1 rock flung into the wrong location to ruin your day. Or worse mud turning to rock and ripping it all apart. Fender liners add protection and piece of mind.
Keep It Dirty Off-Road..... I totally agree. I hydro locked my truck on a dirtnation run in Big Bear after a water crossing. Lesson learned ($3k later), lol. It’s funny now, right.
Any idea on how AlphaEquipt wheels or any others with +25 offset (stock offset) would do with rubbing? Appears most of the rubbing issues were along outer edge of fender potential caused by 0 offset?
Jason TheSweet the worst of the rubbing at the edges yes, but there is rubbing everywhere. I had stock wheels (+34) on the last truck and still saw a lot of rubbing on the fenders with 37s. Slowed us down a bit on the trails. We were getting ready for fenders before the crash happened. So +25 or +6 wheels can help reduce it, but won’t get rid of it. And if you don’t move the liner up an inch, you risk ripping off the fenders.
Go back to geiser you will have less rubbing
1 geiser it’s taller
2 is stiff
Great video as always
Armen Babayan YeH, something I’m considering. But should we do Geisers or just go to the left level?
Keep It Dirty Off-Road left level ???
Armen Babayan next level🤦♂️ auto correct sucks sometimes
Keep It Dirty Off-Road 😂
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad would be great to see you get the new live valve setup 3.0 racing shocks!
Can I ask how tall you are? my raptor comes up to my lower chest, but im 6'2, that truck looks huge next to you, but im guessing youre shorter? thanks bro
Hilary Farnum 🤣🤣 yeah I’m short man. 5’5”
When Helio mentions you in the video
Sunny 🤷♂️ was wondering when you would notice 😉
those look like Air Force hear pro???
Do you mean the AlphaRex? If so these are the Nova Series.
What do u think about -15 offset wheels r they good offroad for long runs and jumps? i know u have 0 offset but i trust ur experience and opinion .
Anything past 0 requires wider fenders and trimming. I’m not a fan of sticking the tires out that far. No benefits and tons of headaches.
Let’s say your at stock travel. You will need +2 fenders just to keep the tires from ripping off your fenders. But since they are only 15mm wider, the truck won’t look right because they won’t quite fit the wheel well.
Say you go mid travel, now that +2 fender has to be a +4 and your truck looks comically wide. Stick with 0 or less. Max I would go in is like +6 to clear most suspension upgrades
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Thnx alot for the info man i realy apreciate it .
Hey there love the videos! I’ve got a 2010 raptor with Geiser springs on mid perch and +3 deavers in the back. So the whole truck is lifted some. I’ve put 37’s on the truck and they are still just barely rubbing the inside bottom of fender flares. I have a pair of advanced fiberglass +2 +2 fenders that I’m going to put on. I’ve also got their fender liners to go with it. Do you think it’s necessary to beat the pinch welds back in my situation? I’m not sure if this is a requirement for the new fender liners or If they are designed to just go on without modification? It doesn’t say anything about this in the instructions...
On the Gen1 I’ve heard tolerances are even tighter than the Gen2 and bending the pinch welds is a must
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad so I just took my fender liners off and idk If this is just the way it was for 2010 but mine already looks good 😌 like to me I don’t see anything to really bend or any reason why I would cut or bend anything
I could send u some pics thru email or something if u wanna see what I’m talking about
@@xtermnation7654 they are all the same man. You will have to do some bending if you plan to offroad. My email is KeepItDirtyOffroad@gmail.com if want to send me pics
Did you guys ever had Cam Phaser issues? With the 2017 Raptor or this new one
Niels G. We have been lucky. We have been relatively abusive to the truck and never had the cam phaser problem over 86k miles across 2 trucks.
One thing to note though. Ours almost never sits in traffic. Offroad we stretch her legs often. And no engine mods. Ecoboost is very sensitive to mods.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad thanks for the info, I just bought a 2019 802A raptor with 25k miles, going on my first road trip this weekend. Great videos
Niels G. Thanks man.
This is just me but I don't like the looks of 37s on the Raptor, on a Super duty it looks good.
Ragrle Graggle 🤷♂️ truck looks mean with them on. On a super duty 37s are a tad too small and 39s look better.
Just put the proper suspension on to accomodate the 37s and type of driving youll be doing.
B E suspension is just one piece of the puzzle. The “right” suspension won’t clear stock fenders. The right suspension won’t compensate for the power loss and gearing is improve reliability or reinforcement. Suspension is just one part. I’m known for pushing a stock truck to the limits. My audience is a lot like me too in that they don’t have the budget for a big expensive build. So this video series is to show all the steps along the way to do 37s right and document the results. Not just opinions that are based in nothing. We will be doing gearing, suspension, reinforcement and more to do 37s and keep off-road functional and reliable.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad if your on a budget and buy a raptor for offroading and baja probably not the smartest choice , but whatever makes people happy.
B E why not? Raptor is a very capable truck stock. I been everywhere with this truck and only upgraded the springs. And had far less issues than the build up trucks. I would wager that my Raptors has more off-road miles than yours ( IF you even own a Raptor).
Anyways man. I push my truck offroad and enjoy every minute of it on a budget. And I encourage others to do the same and that’s the main purpose of this channel. You don’t have to have a massive budget or overbuilt truck to go offroad. You should join us a run sometime to see what the truck can really do.
@@B_EIMON Budget is subjective isn't it? If you're considering buying an older truck to modify a bit and beat on a la Gambler 500, sure that' cheaper than a Raptor, but if you compare to $250,000 trophy truck builds, than a stock Raptor with a few add-ons is the budget option.
Did your wife approve you mutilating that Raptor???
