- May 25, 1986 aircheck of WSNJ-FM. Aircheck recorded from Far Northeast Philadelphia. After Mutual News, we hear "Candlelight and Music" for the dinner hour. This programming was common for many stations back in the fifties and sixties. As late as 1986, the station continued to use much of its original equipment dating back to the forties for many years. This is evident with the turntable rumble at 22:23. Local listeners didn't care about such minor things and enjoyed the station just as it was.

This is so cool! So incredibly glad you had the foresight to make these airchecks because as far as I know - this is the only recording of WSNJ back when it was 107.7 FM. Now it’s 1240am/99.9fm and has little to do with the original WSNJ. Your channel inspired me to make airchecks of all the stations I can hear when I lived in NJ and now here in NYC. Because as we clearly can see, nothing that is on air now can be guaranteed to be on air years from now. Matter of fact, the airchecks I made years ago of WNJC 1360 are now of a station that no longer exists. Very sad indeed but I’m glad I captured it when I could.
