- Shell Point Retirement Community - 9 days after Hurricane Ian
This is Shell Point Retirement Community, a non-profit ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. Located in Fort Myers, Florida, about one mile from the Sanibel Island Causeway.
Really the music wtf
Hi Chris and Nancy, my name is Emma Heaton. I ama reporter with WINK News. I am working on a story about Shell Point and wondering if I would be able to use this footage on our newscasts with appropriate credit?
Yikes - just noticed. Still want this? If so, okay. Chris
People from Shadow Wood moved there a few years ago. 😢
It is a beautiful property, very well kept. They provided meals and shelter - even through today - for all the residents. Monday, they go back to the restaurant type plans.
Well - not quite as beautiful now, but it will be again.
Thanks for sharing this. Well done. Weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning! So thankful no lives were lost and the administration has done an amazing job caring for the residents.
So true! Shell Point staff really doing a great job.
My Dad use to say he could hear those words fr. the Military hymn. On his way back fr. the Pacific. He felt the Lord said you have come through the war in the Submarine service, now go forth an Bless others. God's Blessings to.
we need a 5 mile Buffer from building on the coast of Florida, and no barrier Island living at all . Our insurance rates in Florida are astronomically high from a constant drain on the system! we get blown down we rebuild . How many times do you need to get knocked down before you stop getting up? Joel Central Florida!
I think Sanibel and FMB will get back up, just like Key West after the Labor Day hurricane, 1935
There was more flooding inland than any part of the beach communities of Tampa, Clearwater, Anna Maria, Longboat, Siesta Key….sooooooo. And we all pay zillions in flood insurance on the coast.
Our hearts are with you. 🙏🏼
thank you.
Did residents evacuate?
Many did. Some did not.
@@ChrisandNancyTravel I'm happy to hear the ones that stayed were looked after. Thanks for your response.
@@waitaminute2015 I have heard that Shell Point does a super job of caring for residents during these events.
