This is a wonderful video. I just ordered the 2017 C Coupe here in Los Angeles. This video was very helpful and informative. It is well produced and the best video on this car that I found. You will enjoy watching it and the presenter is very charming.

But I am glad to say that at least in my opinion, empire is wakening up from resigned period. Like that, because Merc is finally grows in me like before when I drove magnificent W108, W124, C215... Great review once again! Just one thing i noticed, i myself own this car, and if you want to open the boot with your foot, just make a "kick" motion instead of a swipe motion with your foot verticaly right under the Mercedes star, then the boot will work almost every time! :)
Our paths might have crossed in Málaga as I visited the "Museo Automovilistico" that month also. ( Where the video starts and ends ). Excellent video as usual. The C400 is a rare beast in Malaga as most tend to be the C220d or occasionally the C250d.
I only see C300 Coupe's for sale here in the States. (C63 too expensive at the moment) Coming from a C5 Corvette ownership I know the hp won't be there but the exterior and interior quality is light years better than the vette can't wait to test drive it ! Love your review!
Ah, I have to say that I prefer this to the C63S, but probably just because it has a greater engine. Although there is no way you can go wrong with Mercedes. All of their cars are beautiful and their AMGs are amazing.
To open C-Klasse cars equipped with Hands Free trunk release option, all you have to do is to linger your foot under neath the trunk for half a second longer and it will pop open - always!!! Simple

I know style is a subjective thing, but I find all the current motor vehicle offerings from Daimler, to be Very Attractive. Gorden Wagener seems to be giving the range a certain (shared) continuity of Style, Strong Character Lines, along with Beautifully Crafted Luxurious Interiors....That are now putting Audi on notice. There isn't an ugly car in Mercedes line up any longer. The last time this occurred, was (from the mid 60's) the early 90's. It is funny how the car industry goes through cycles, Mercedes seems to be dominate within the German Luxury Passenger Car Brands right now. Whilst BMW and Audi seem to be struggling with their design language. I am not referencing Porsche, as they seem to have their own unique style, and way of doing things. Yes its evolutionary, but it just seems to work for them, as the brilliant 911, is still beautiful after 50+ years. You either love it, or hate it... Audi's new models are all just evolutions of the previous generations model, it's like spot the difference. The last two new releases of each model, appear to be just boring Reinterpretations of both of Exterior and Interior Designs. Sure they all have a quality of build, and have very well appointed interiors, but all the previous models look for the most part, to be much like the newly released car. BMW, well they don't seem to know what to do. Their 3 series looks cheap and nasty and totally forgettable. Unlike the E30, E36 and E46 3 series. The current 5 series is boring, whilst the E34 and E39 series cars, still have a certain appeal, even though they are both quiet old now. As for the 7 series, well they haven't nailed good design here since the E38 series, which finished production in 2001. Sure I could be wrong, as this is only my observation and personal opinion.Though I must admit to liking BMW's Current 6 series range. They appear to break away from the monotonous styling, of all the current crop of BMW's other offerings. The only real positive I can see, from both Audi's and BMW's current anonymous vehicles, is their wonderful driving characteristics. The same must be said, for all Daimler Benz Vehicles. All German cars, seem to have a certain Core DNA Quotient, that makes their many models, incredibly exhilarating and rewarding to drive.
nice! I wouldnt take the red interior though, you might not like it over time. Most important thing is that you dont pick the leather option but stay with cloth or amg style microfibre dinamica/artico mix
It depends on the market. In Germany for example, the standard seat is mix of cloth / artico. The AMG interior then has microfibre dinamica on the inside and artico faux leather on the outside. Those both are the best choices as you dont sweat in summer, its not cold in winter and you dont support the animal killing industry. If you want to wipe your seats clean easier you can also go with full artico seats. You should check price list and/or configurator in your country to see whats possible, just dont pick the full leather option.

Thomas, about the Comfort Opening of the Trunk door. U just have to kick under the Car and not move your foot left and right under it. I got a new Skoda Superb and if you move it left and right, it wont open, but if you just kick under the Car it opens every time :) Otherwise great Review as always!

Thomas, at the min 36 I must say that unfortunately you are mistaken. I bought a new C220d exclusive line with a lot of extras but from standard it did not had the Collision Braking Assistant. It is such a shame that so expensive cars do not come really with it as standard. You just get a red triangle and a beeping sound if you are too close to the car in the front but it does nothing.
Hello again, in the options list I have the collision assistant plus but it does nothing, probably because I am breaking before getting too close to the car in the front. I will try it with a paper bag and get back to you :).
That front grille design is beautiful. Very unique. I also love that profile, i.e. the window aperture tapering toward the rear. You are spot on with this review. Ditch the leather and those 19" wheels. I'd ditch the air suspension as well. The interior is also very well thought out, but as I said before, they should add you as a consultant as you pointed out several of the drawbacks -t hat glove compartment opening, the interface with the infotainment and that awful navi screen! Grrrrrrrrr. It makes me angry ;) With respect to the air suspension, if you are planning on keeping the car for awhile, air suspension is incredibly expensive to repair. I'd avoid it, along with half of the other silly options like that foot kick trunk thingy. The one trend I love is those huge panoramic glass roofs. Amazing! I was laughing so hard when you referenced Homer - I was thinking you sounded like Homer when you turned and said that! Then I couldn't wait to see you get in the back waiting for you to be crushed but that smarty pants car saved you!!! Now that winter is here, will you be reviewing every car in Spain? ;)

I'd take the C250. It's more than sufficient for everyday driving. The 34hp more generated by the C300 do not justify the additional charge. C400 is good but expensive, as well as the AMG models.

Autogefühl, could you please clarify about c400 coupe? I really like new coupe and planing to buy one, but can not find any information about c400. MB recently announced c43 AMG coupe (former c450). 6 cylinder engines are my favorite ones, but I really dislike everything about AMG and AMG styling line and would go for top non-AMG versions. German MB website seems to have the largest engine variety, yet still no C400 available. And also it gives four WD (4matic) option only for 250 Diesel. Any info about that? Did you drive a prototype, or sth? I know that MB invited journalists to Spain for filming and there was present a large variety of models both AMG and non AMG, way before they were delivered to dealers, so I hope you do know about c400 and 4matic options. That diamond grille is a little over the top for me. It doesn't look restrained or tasteful, and instead looks boastful and tacky with the big star right in the middle.
The fact that the sedan gets manual air conditioning as standard is pathetic for the price. But whatever, if you wanna buy it, feel free to be ripped off. And that screen... I just don't see the appeal of a Mercedes. Maybe in a a C63 AMG... Audi and BMW rip you off the same way, but at least their screen are attached properly.

The C-Class more speaks to me as exterior and interior is to me more emotional and beautiful. I also like the driving feeling better with the C-Class. When the C-Class convertible comes out, that would be my car :)

You know what's weird, that for the c450 you cannot get the cooling seat, it is not a option, I don't know if it will be available next year....

Autogefühl, could you please clarify about c400 coupe? I really like new coupe and planing to buy one, but can not find any information about c400. MB recently announced c43 AMG coupe (former c450). 6 cylinder engines are my favorite ones, but I really dislike everything about AMG and AMG styling line and would go for top non-AMG versions. German MB website seems to have the largest engine variety, yet still no C400 available. And also it gives four WD (4matic) option only for 250 Diesel. Any info about that? Did you drive a prototype, or sth? I know that MB invited journalists to Spain for filming and there was present a large variety of models both AMG and non AMG, way before they were delivered to dealers, so I hope you do know about c400 and 4matic options.
