  • This simple tutorial will show you how I make ceramic pendants. I use clay that must be fired in a kiln but these pendants could be made out of other types of clay that can be fired in your household oven. Good luck, have fun, and be creative!

    • @EarthInspired

      The time and temperature are dependent on the type of clay you're using and/or glaze…. I don't have a link for the wire. If you search "nichrome wire for sale" online you will find it no problem. 20 to 22 gauge is a great place to start. Thanks! Hope this helps.

    I know this is an old video so idk if you’ll see this but have you tried firing with the wire at cone 10? I’ve heard that it can work but I know most wire is only “supposed to” work to cone 6. Thanks!:)

    • @EarthInspired

      Hello there... It is actually a homemade glaze. Very easy to make. I call it Tranquility. It is best suited for Raku applications... I'll have to find the recipe and included in the glazing and firing video we're going to put out in a few weeks. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    can we use such pendants without the heating/firing/baking process after they've dried?

    • @EarthInspired

      That would depend on what type of clay you use. My clay requires firing in a kiln. There are air dry clay options out there. Thanks!

    Just getting started...what type of kiln do I purchase to begin my clay beads and pendants?

    • @EarthInspired
      @EarthInspired  3 года назад

      That's not necessarily an easy straight forward answer. All depends on what kind of clay you're using. I've got an electric kiln I use to bisque fire the clay. Then I have a raku kiln I built out of an old electric kiln that I fire the glaze with. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    Cute, but I'm not a rustic gal. If you put a hole in it, you then place a sterling jump ring in to hang, and it will look nicer. These are very cute pendants, dress them up a little.😁

    What gauge is the wire you use? I found 17 gauge and 24 gauge wire for use in kilns on line.l

    • @EarthInspired
      @EarthInspired  4 года назад +2

      I usually use 20 gauge... this may be a little stiff to work with but I find it keeps the loop from deforming easily.
