This is an excellent video, I have never even heard of a molly bolt before, and I have seen toggle bolts before, but had no idea what they were for or how they were used. Thanks!
this was kind of helpfull in showing wich anchors i should use but this is only good for american homes were the wall is made of a wood frame and is hollow inside specially for the togle bolt but we here in europe have brick walls wich makes it more dificult to drill and choose the right thing
That's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm putting in new bars for my drapes in my room. Taking the old ones out I found a pair of wall anchors in one of the walls and I can't get it out. They stick out like a sore thumb on my white walls.
The toggle bolt should be removed before inserting the toggle in the wall. Put the detached bolt through the item you wish to attach, collapse the toggle wings, thread the bolt back into the "wings", push them through your pre-drilled hole in the wall and then tighten the toggle bolt.
Once the toggle bolt is pushed through the hole in the wall it can not be removed. Simply pull the bolt gently toward you and unscrew it allowing the toggle wings to fall down inside the wall. Then remove the bolt.
@1971SuperLead Nah dude your wrong, it's spinning because he just started the threading and the fixing hasn't started expanding yet, when it reaches about half way it should start to get firm. if it's too tight at the start by the time the screw reaches half way there is a risk of the screw not completely going in without ruing the expanded grip, or too tight to expand causing the screw to not go in all the way leaving a screw head sticking out
I'm just 11 and I love to make stuff my Dady just gave a drill and a hammer and like 502'272736262627'2728282882' screws jk I have 25 of them and he gave me a flat head screw driver and like 100 nales I'm so happy
Bet you didn't know plastic expansion anchors aren't meant for anything other then concrete. We had one whole day in my Home Reno Apprenticeship class about people using plastic expansion anchors in drywall and how it's dangerous.
This is bullshit I got standard wall plugs in holding a heavy tv lol my fault if it comes off the wall but it’s been there 3 years now and hasn’t moved people have knocked into it and everything so all good stick to the standard cheaper stuff works just as well 👍🏻👍🏻

Installing a threaded drywall anchor, do not be surprised if the wall tears and the roof collapses on top of you. This is normal.

@SuicidalLooney If you say so. My experience is that if the anchor is spinning the screw is never going in.
Never predrill a hole for a threaded nylon anchor. Punch the front part into the wall with a hammer and drill it in place.
