This album is definitely more of a grower sonically but it’s so well written and the execution of the concept is masterfully done. I’m not sure how much non Halsey fans will like it but I’m enjoying rediscovering this album when I listen to it . I’m not sure it’s my fave album of hers but I can definitely admire it.

Just bought the album yesterday and listened to it for the first time...wow, what a trip. The piano break in "Forever...is a longtime" was so beautifully unexpected and I wish she did a whole song around that! Also I knew the existence of "Ashley" would make you happy :). And I'm already learning all the words to "Clementine" because I love the story it tells and the simple yet deep production! The "Jennifer's Body" quote at the beginning of "Killing boys" though...damn we stan a songstress with taste! :D Plus I saw "3am" and immediately though of Ash, knowing the name alone would set you off because "we don't play with demons at 3am on this channel!" XD (But I'm glad you liked it so much. And yes, "Without Me" was Grammy-snubbed, hard :P).

Just keep in mind that’s her ranking on her initial listen. I also agree that this is the kind of album you just need to listen to a few times to fully digest it. It’s just a really good album in general and it’s one you have to get accustomed to because of how jarring it can seem, but it was right up my alley so I didn’t mind listening to it a few times.

Just keep in mind that’s her ranking on her initial listen. I also agree that this is the kind of album you just need to listen to a few times to fully digest it. It’s just a really good album in general and it’s one you have to get accustomed to because of how jarring it can seem, but it was right up my alley so I didn’t mind listening to it a few times.

forever (is a long time) is one of my faves because ashley mentioned that it’s a song about loving someone and then eventually thinking “what am i doing, how can this person love me?” it goes from optimistic to anxious. the song goes from major key to minor key and i thought that shit was so cool.

we literally have basically the same top songs on the album- the taste jumped out :) killing boys I think is going to be a sleeper hit from the album. and more killed me- i rarely want to listen to songs that hurt me that way but it's just so beautiful i'm willing to feel all the feels
