As a pilot the oxygen level would be handy when flying 7000 feet and higher. Supplemental oxygen required above 12000 but would help to use it lower. May come in handy for mountain climbing. Other then that I see your point about using it around sea level.

Hey Greg, could you make a video about using the Apple watch without an iPhone?
My parents use Android phones since forever, and it would be a huge change for them to use an iphone.
I have heard that it is viable to just setup the apple watch once using an iPhone and then continue using it standalone. What would be the drawbacks and limitations of doing that?
If it is possible and practical, many android users could buy the apple watch.

    • @aidanm5194
      @aidanm5194 3 года назад +2

      You really need a phone
You could get a used iPhone 7 or even a 6 if you want and an Apple Watch
The Apple Watch is more of an accessory but can totally be used even though you have a not great phone. The se is a good option but some features like Snapchat and Instagram and even web browsing are horrible. If you want to set up the watch with even an old iPhone se gen 1 and just use the watch that would work but there are some functions that still would require a phone later so you you would have to keep it in your possession.
Also you could by a less expensive iPhone and connect multiple watches. There is some apple support videos on how that works but it’s really made for kids that want a watch and the parents have a iPhone.
Just look it up on apple or even Google it
So you still have to have a phone but there are some good options. You just kinda have to remember that it’s still a watch and can’t do everything yet

The blood oxygen level is useful for people with asthma as a single use case. During asthma attacks, since your breathing is inhibited, your blood oxygen level will drop. So if you think you feel an attack coming on you could check your blood oxygen (also known as pulse oximeter), and even potentially notice when you blood oxygen is lower than normal so you could potentially use your rescue inhaler before the asthma attack fully sets in. Allowing you to recover better, faster.
I myself have asthma, but the feature isn't super appealing to me because my asthma is under control. But I figured I would give you some info on it.
P.S. A blood oxygen level of under 90 is typically considered to be something to pay attention too

It surprises me how many people disregard the usefulness of the Blood Oxygen sensor specially in the middle of a pandemic of a disease that targets lungs 🫁 and one of the first things doctors keep checking on patients is actually the percentage of oxygen in the blood ...i know it’s not perfectly medically accurate but it’s a good start considering the worlds situation.

I feel like the theme of this video is what is preventing me from buying another Apple Watch in the first place. Although I had a series 1, ultimately I felt that it just wasn't adding enough to my life to justify the expense. If he doesn't find the extra health data useful, then what is he using an Apple Watch for? Does he work out consistently enough to make up for it? I'm not sure that I would. I'd consider an SE if a future model gets an Always On Display and there is a big increase in battery life for the device to allow better sleep tracking (which would be VERY useful to me admittedly but so far Iv'e been doing okay without despite my health condition). Otherwise, I think it is an expense that wouldn't give me enough bang for my buck.

It really matters if you don’t have your phone on you all the time
If you are very active like running soccer biking or even surfing it’s SUPER nice. But if you really are just going to the store it doesn’t really help. From the series 1 to a watch with cellular it really changes the use but you have to have a practical application.
So I would wait for something big like a fingerprint sensor and that would probably be a benefit to you if you have a use for it. Otherwise it’s basically a gimmick but I love my series 3 with cellular

Good luck with long battery life on apple watch🤣 coz it's a suicide for apple, bc That's means people will keep the watch longer before the decided to buy a new release one. That's why until series 6 battery still sucks, if Amazfit and other smart watch battery can last even for 2 weeks, there's no way apple can't do the same, apple have all the resources, unfortunately people who buy apple watch/phone had no common sense, and apple realized this🤣🤣 it's all about "apple". To me it's about dependable device, most Android phone/smart watch beat apple in this area.

Link me a smart watch with all the features of the apple watch that can last for 2 weeks then. I bet that all the watches you're talking about are just used for fitness tracking and isn't using the same amount of computing power an apple watch does.

@@fiftyninez9738 yea i agree with you. And the Samsung watch battery lasts about the same as the Apple Watch.
