I repeat, they smashed THEIR OWN wedding ring with a hammer. This is not my wedding ring. I did not smash it. I un-smashed it. That's what goldsmiths do. They un-smash things. This could have been a lot worse, but thankfully the ring was solid 14K white gold with no stones. Gold in general is very malleable so I knew we would be able to restore it!

My friend got divorced and held a party where we cut off her ring (it didn’t come off anymore) and smashed it up.
Glad the ring owner took it to a craftsman to get it repaired, rather buying a new one.

I had a ring that flow of my finger fell under a chair and was flattened, thankfully it was repairable however you can see the hammer marks in it so it has character
