1:29. If I was a common shareholder and bought that day, I would have done as well as he did?! Untrue. Buffett got a much sweeter deal.

You would’ve done as well. His price was 7.14 in 2011, if you bought BAC in 2011 you’d be up over 500% today on your investment.

      Nobody remembers.
      I do.
      2008 (not 2011).
At the time, Citibank and GM were below 1 dollar (or in early 2009).
Bank of america was at around 4 dollars.
      He bought stocks.
The deal, if I am not mistaken was,:
If the stocks keep on falling, the bank would but from him for the same price.
Now if the stocks went up he would have the right to buy more for the same 4 dollars.
It wasn't just invest 5 billion dollars.
      That is leverage, speculation, bet.
      Not the plain value investing.
      Now he chooses good companies.
      Citibank and GM were bankrupt.

I remember. I bought back then and was pissed I couldn't get such a deal.
And if they didn't need the money why give him such a deal?! Brian is revising hiatory

Something to keep in mind here. Buffet said BOA needed the stability NOT the capital. BOA in 2011 wasn't desperate for money but it wasn't a great place either during that time for any bank. The capital from Buffet gave BOA better buying power than their competitors over the markets for the next decade.
