Just finished my 18x20 patio today using your videos as guidance. Took me nearly 2 months doing it solo. ❤ My family and friends will be enjoying it for years to come. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us, brother!
Congratulations! Hard work pays off 👌🏻 stepping back when you’re done with a project like that can make you really happy with what you achieved. Glad the videos helped and I hope you make plenty of great memories on it ✌🏻
You guys are great! I finished a DIY patio with a little help from my brothers, it was challenging but with your videos as guidance it was manageable. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!
Thanks man, glad the videos helped with your project. Now you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor! Plenty of videos to come, thanks for the support ✌
Beautiful…its refreshing to see someone take pride and do quality work these days (rare). Your work is incredible. Family and work #1…. We understand. Glad you had a good productive summer.
Good quality is super important to me… and you’re right, it is hard to come by for some reason… I appreciate the feedback, the summer is going very well. Hope the same for you! ✌🏻
I agree with so many of the comments about your RUclips hardscape channel. It’s amazing and your work and how you explain it. Love it. It’s my favorite!!! ❤. Keep doing what you do. Absolutely outstanding!!!
Incredible work as always. Love seeing someone actually take the time to level each paver so there is no risk of tripping or water puddles. The before and after transformation is insane, so simple and clean looking. I feel like all it needs is a fire pit!
Thank you! That makes a big difference without a doubt… and I agree about the fire pit. They did actually by a propane fire pit which is in the last few clips. A block one would have been very cool but could always be added… 😂✌🏻
Thank You my friend. I love your videos. Learnt a lot, did a home project at my backyard. This year building a patio. Thank you. God bless you, your team, and to your family.
Working on a large raised circular patio with steps and a fire pit in the middle. Doing it myself and using all the knowledge you have shared with us on your videos. I just got done laying down the SS5 and plan to get my lifts in this weekend and hopefully getting the first course laid down next week. Its been a fun project so far. Dont worry to much about posting videos all the time. People are still going to watch because of the great content you put out.
CHS!! CHS!! CHS!! Another awesome patio. Kyle this patio turned out so sweet! Love to hear your comments. I just finished my own paver project and it turned out - thanks for all your tips! Great video.
We really appreciate your YT videos, and waiting a few months to see you and Benny's skills and beautiful results is a small price to pay. Wishing you and yours continued success!
Love your channel guys been watching for a while. I'm 67 BTW and started an 800sf patio - this work is so physically grueling. I love hard work but i definitely strap up with all that compression gear for my back, knees, wrists etc... funny thing I have bunnies eating my string lines. Pisses me off I am going to go all Elmer Fudd if they keep it up. God Bless you guys and thanks for your instruction it has been very helpful.
Another banger bro!!💪💪🔥🔥She’s a biggin’ and it came out awesome I think the install was great as far as the design they got a great size patio Curves are awesome too but sometimes getting more size out ways the aesthetics of curves and additional cost that goes with them
Thanks for everything you do! Loving the channel. Recently discovered you when researching how to build a patio. Thinking about tackling it myself and really appreciate all the information you provide. I know it's hard to balance it all, just keep doing what you can. Thanks
It is my pleasure, glad you are enjoying the channel! This kind of work is very difficult physically but easily understandable. So coming up with a good plan is key and then chipping away at it how ever you can. It just takes time but so rewarding when you are done. The RUclips uploading is tough for sure but I really enjoy doing it! ✌
Another wonder commentary not to mention great work also. I can see the growth of your business. Benny is more involved, I see him laying down more and seems very confident in doing it. I can relate when it comes to just putting your head down and going full 100% on your primary business. Your videos are so educational it is worth waiting to see them. It’s like waiting for the next semester at school knowing you will learn something new or just how to be a great worker with great quality finishes. Take your time to post my brother. If you over post it gets watered down. I can’t wait to see the July 2024 job whenever it comes. Take your time to post.
Missed you and ol boarder Benny lol….for real brother you do have a great channel and you know I enjoy watching and learning from you both. Keep ‘em commin ol bud….god bless brother..
I’m really digging the videos!! I would really like to hear more about what you do with the existing wood staircase from the deck. I haven’t been able to find any videos from anyone that talks about that. Especially in this case where the new pavers are at a different height than what was there before.
Great job brother. We've communicated briefly on here. I'm in southeast MA Bristol County. New Life Hardscape and masonry and open about my faith. Keep up the good work. My 3rd season this year and my worst. Glad you guys are busy.
Yes sir, I remember you brother! Thanks for the support and I'm sorry to hear your year is not going as well as you would hope. But hang in there man, every season has its struggles and there are good and bad years for sure. The main thing to remember is that the Lord always provides. No matter how bad we think it is, He always supplies a way through the problems. Keep grinding and have faith, things will turn around. God Bless bro✌
I have watched you for nearly a year now and learned so much about hardscaping. Thank you so much, I was able to tell if the guys who did my patio did it yo your standards and methods, and they sort of did, but the concrete they put ariund the edges to hold the pavers in is done very poorly, they didn't smooth it like you do, plus the pushed the 3/4 and the bedding stone into it, now I can't place anything abutting the pavers. Question: Can the poorly done concrete be cut away and redone without too much damage to the pavers? Really wish you were in my area, I would have hired you!!! Hoping you can give me some ideas of how to fix their mess! Thank you for all you do and for your RUclips videos, it's okay, I will always wait patiently for your new uploads. Do you and live your life, BTW, you wife is a sweet soul!
Beautiful work! In regards to drainage, in your other videos you’ve said not to overly compact the soil sub-grade because that will prevent it from draining. But what do you do when the soil sub-grade is dense clay that’s already impermeable when you first dig down to it? How do you make it permeable so rainwater doesn’t just pool up in the crushed aggregate layer?
I also wonder about that. I just finished a 400 sqft travertine firepit patio on dense clay subsoil. My solution was to excavate the grade tip as close to a 1/8 slope as possible, then i dug trenches around the perimeter and through the diagonal to install 4" pvc drain pipe wrapped in a fabric sock. It all feeds to the low corner and drains to daylight about 10 feet past the patio edge. Then i installed QP, then 3/4" base, then the 3/8" screed layer, all installed and compacted as per his usual MO. I just finished, hoping for the best.
Hi another excellent informative video. I have a question. I had a new paver patio installed in May 2024 it’s about 1500 sq ft and it’s Cambridge pavers. Light gray paver with black paver on the edge with black polymeric sand and also a sitting wall. I’ve noticed that leaves when they get wet from the rain they stain the pavers. So now I’m looking to apply a sealant. Can you recommend a really good sealant and is there a period to wait before applying sealant on new pavers. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thank you very much! That is a good question… So leaves do stain pretty quickly, however after blowing the leaves off and letting the sun hit the pavers for awhile actually fades those stains away naturally. Weird how it happens but they do go away. And honestly, I never seal the pavers I install. Because even if you seal them, those leave stains will then just be on top of the sealer instead of the pavers. And sealer typically is only good for a season or 2 before it breaks down. So having to do it every year or every other year without many benefits isn’t worth it in my opinion. It really depends on who you talk to about sealers, but I don’t really work with them…. Plus, if you do it wrong, it could mess things up. So if you do want to seal them, you need to wait 60-90 days after polymeric sand was installed to make sure it is set and the pavers have been thoroughly cured by the sun. Then be sure they are completely dry before applying the sealer. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful on that subject ✌🏻
@@TheChristianHardscaper, I had a paver company come out and honestly told me to not apply sealant. He recommended every spring after the pollen has fallen do a surface cleaning and enjoy the patio for the summer. Only surface clean once a season and should last long time looking good. So with his recommendation and your comment I think that’s the route I’m going to go. Appreciate your opinion and enjoy watching your videos.
Hey boss. Want to thank you for all your videos. Your channel was my main source to complete my patio. Step by step, took me 4 motnhs to complete. One last question, any particular polymeric sand brand you can recommend?
Hey brother, the videos are my pleasure. Glad they helped with your project! Sorry for the late response but depending on where you live they have different manufacturers... But I use (Techniseal) or (Alliance) polymeric sand.
Greetings Brother Kyle and Ben. Your videos are really informative. Thank you. Is the process for laying pavers for vehicular traffic the same as for the patios. Do you have any video content for sub base preparation for driveways? GOD Bless.
Thanks brother! I love this wall block. I use it 95% of the time when I do a concrete block wall. (Techo Bloc) (Semma) block with a (Shale Grey) color tone.
Looks awesome! Do you have to do anything special at the base of the sitting wall? Or is it just blocks sitting on the same 3/4" clear base as the pavers and gravity alone keeps it stable and resistant to "tip over"?
Amazing work! I wanted to ask you a quick question and it would mean a lot to get your opinion! You know how screed using the pipes, have you tried to do using paint? The paint act acts as a reference when screeding similar to the pipes. It’s my dad’s technique. I’ve always wanted to do it with pipes but I found this way a bit easier. What we do is place the paver to finish height with hpb and then at about the 8ft mark place another paver at finish height with pitch. We place level on it to make sure it touch all ends of the paver and then remove the paver and paint the square. We then use the level and using the paint as a reference make a line with the hp making sure it’s flat and no gaps and then paint a straight line on that. We then basically screed but have to be careful not to remove the paint lines or else we’d go to low Hope that made sense. I tried googling online this technique but didn’t have any luck so I wanted to ask you if you’ve heard of it? Does it seem like a good method? Any advice is much appreciated! Your videos are my go to reference whenever I need help and you inspired me to start a business. All the best, Jay
That came out great! Benny pouring chip stone out with precision into the pipe spots. Did you ask they why they had some weird decking at the stairwell? Was it a retro fit or is that random section there to hold drinks or something 🤔🍺

Thank you, unfortunately haven't got into water features or aquascapes too much yet in my career but hopefully someday... ✌
Always enjoy watching your hardscape video. How much would an estimate of a patio and Wall cost like this?
Happy to hear that! A patio project like this can cost between $20,000-$25,000 depending on the different variables

That’s awesome to hear! I get my materials mainly from (Robbins Garden Center) in Oxford Ma. They have very clean chip stone and 3/4. Good luck with your project! ✌🏻
Those blocks have clips to hold the blocks in place. How come you glue every row?
Where in MA are you located? Looking for a solid MA hardscaper if you’re nearby and I love your work. I’m in the Northshore.
Am i supposed to fill the wall blocks all the way up with rock or no? Ive seen a lot of people saying to backfill your block on retaining walls?
With retaining walls holding back a lot of pressure I always recommend core filling every block of every row. But for small sitting walls, it is not necessary. ✌
