I had the pleasure and opportunity of attending Mr. Wakeman recent solo concert in Mexico City. I have liked his music since I was 15… I am 69 now and still enjoy… thanks for this on RUclips
One of the many advantages of being of a certain age is that one remembers all the good music that was written during the second half of the last century. And that is an invaluable asset to be grateful for. THANK for this GEM!
This was absolutely magical ! Rick Wakeman has been the soundtrack of my life for over 50 years, and I truly loved this concert. So glad I stumbled upon it ! Ashley Holt is the true and everlasting voice of these classics and he's wonderful here. The interplay between Rick and Adam was simply amazing. I can't even think as fast as Rick can play the keyboards. The camera work and quality of the video was excellent, giving a real view of Rick's keyboardsmanship, his facial expressions, Ashley singing songs I've loved since the 70's, the amazing guitarwork of the session guy (who is he??); it was all just so well done, and then edited so professionally, by someone who obviously loves these guys as much as we do. Brian May was a surprise treat, and his guitarwork on Starship Trooper (appropriate since Sir Brian is an astrophysicist...) was unreal. There were many points during this concert that I got chills. Rick, I flew to London (from NJ, USA) for your last performance of Journey with the whole crew. I can't thank you enough for all the thousands of hours of joy you've brought me over the decades, including most recently this 2.5 hours of pure joy. Edit - make that 5 hours. I just watched this a second time in quick succession, distracted only by writing this review and doing work with one eye (oh there is that on my desk, also).
I keep watching this over and over. Great every time. Man...we are so lucky to have access to this fantastic concert. I agree with every word you said...
Amazing Performance!!😎 I'm 65 now and I am taking my teenage son to see Mr.Rick Wakeman Final Solo Tour in October in Rochester NY. I can not wait. 😊🏆💯❤️

My uncle introduced me to Rick Wakeman well over 40 years ago and I have been an absolute fanboy ever since. That single introduction has steered my taste and interest in music for nearly half a century.
You're right about that - I even discovered that way that he was the pianist on Cat Stevens' Morning Has Broken once the piano started!!! No prompting whatsoever, I was hearing it and thought "hey, that's Rick!?!"
Rick Wakeman, as everybody said "The best of the best, incredible keyboards". I used to have a rock group back in the '70s and I tried to play Yes, long history, I never had that virtuosity. Now he is a Brother Mason as myself, and we are almost the same age. I am an Admirer of this Marvelous Musician and incredible music creator. I hope in the future he will create music for the Three Degrees.
And in particular the stuff he did with David Bowie, beginning with the Space Oddity Mellotron, the Life on Mars piano and later the Absolute Beginners piano.
What a fine 2 plus hours of masterpiece music. Rick Wakeman is the best keyboardist of all time and Brian May is right up there as one of the best guitarist. Music for the ages.
Another AMAZING Epic Classic Rick Wakeman Performance. I'm 65 now and I can not wait to get to take my teenage son to see Mr.Rick Wakeman on his Final Solo Tour in October in Rochester NY. 😎😁👍❤️🏆💯
This makes my ears tingling happy. I've loved RW since I was a teen...over 40 years ago. Love this concert. Man I love the internet for bringing me jewels like this to enjoy. Thanks for this.
We all know Rick is a genius and highly respected musician, but his "gift' for beautiful melodies is so underrated. The Melody in Arthur is simply Heart Breakingly Beautiful.
Mr Holt is magnificent on The Last Battle.....as he always is. I didn't know of Mr Colq. until Red Planet. I love his playing. Kept this video for a rainy day. Did the trick.
I had the chance to be at his presentation in Buenos Aires on 1980 or 1981, at Luna Park. I am unable to describe the feelings at the time, which still remain untouched. Being a Yes fun and particularly a Rick´s....you can imagine. Rick´s music is cosmic.
@Rick Wakeman sorry Me Wakeman but when you was in Caracas with your son, I hug you and said to you, that I considered you the BEST musician in the world 😁😁😁
Matt Pegg of Procol Harum. A great musician. His dad Dave Pegg played bass for Fairport Convention abd Matt did shows for them too. Dave Colquhoun is of course on guitar.
First of all, it is a fact that Rick Wakeman is a fabulous artist. it is also totally obvious that this show was put together with top notch musicians. The overall quality of the music, the harmonies, it was outstanding. You may be surprised I was never much of a fan of Wakeman's solo work - aside from the album 'No Earthly Connection' of which I was totally stunned to find a live track here - but having heard the live performance it is clear that in these circumstances, it all sounds amazing. As for the vocals - and to be clear I am NOT specifically referring to the Starship Troopers performance - I was disappointed. However, it is a fact that many great musicians struggle to find a proper vocal for their solo work. Being a good singer is one thing, but finding someone that feels the spirit of the music who is able to reinforce its harmony is hard. I'm sorry to say that I had a burned out feeling with this singer, but I also have that with more famous artists at older age.
Thank You Míster Richard Wakeman, I vef8. To listen tour music since I was 10 Years old. 1972. And I AM still enjoing tour ART. Please, don't leave Us..... Tour older FANS.... !!!!!! THANKS A LOT MÍSTER WAKEMAN.... !!!
OMG...what else can I say...Thank you, Rick, you´re amazing. I was very lucky to hear your concert in my city, Mendoza, I am so grateful. God bless you!
Takes balls to play like Brian does here live on stage. There's so much that can go wrong, he's completely exposed yet he's always in complete control.
For the father-son duet towards the end...I would pay megabucks to watch in person. Amazing beyond belief. Thanks Rick Wakeman. I got to shake your hand in San Antonio, Texas...only took 40+ years but it happened!
Espectacular, te vi tocar en Bs. As. Brian... Extraordinario el Recital!!! Me encantó. As. Pronto!!!
To think I've missed Rick Wakeman and the English Rock Ensemble for my whole life until now! What a talented and unique group they are! Being a Brian May fan, the jam at the end was fabulous, a must see for any fan, of what Brian can do with his lady Red!! I"m surprised those bearings weren't flying all over the floor there!
This is great and somehow sad to see all those great musicians grown old together with prog rock. I was too small yet at that time, but still I hope there will come a time again with such musicianship being broadly accepted and available.

Glad you enjoyed. We are going to his concert in Basingstoke, England (December 2024). Really looking forward to it.
Thank you mate; we're the same age and I also grew up with music of YES and other great bands in that time - the best time of my life!

I can only agree to your words! the seventies were also the best time of MY life!
RICK WAKEMAN con BRIAN MAY !!!!!!!

June 72 , con el Moog en And you and I (YES) me cautivó
English rock music is for me the finest of all !!!!
Brilliant - all of them. See these legends before they pass into history, kids. You’ll never see or hear their like again.

Excellent! Fantastic! Superb! Extraordinary!
I had the fortune of shaking hands with both Rick and Brian back in the 80s. Those are moments that will endure in my memory for the rest of my life.
Lucky you.
My uncle introduced me to Rick Wakeman well over 40 years ago and I have been an absolute fanboy ever since. That single introduction has steered my taste and interest in music for nearly half a century.
Nos vemos en Buenos Aires, querido Rick Wakeman!!!! 2024
When????😅😮
From Brazil, very very good...
I have listened to Rick' s music since the seventies. I still find it BRILIANT in 2022 !
And I'm convinced that, like me, you'll still find it brilliant in any year!!! 👍🏻
😊 1:15:41 this is approximately when Brian May hits the stage, my friends. 😎
Br ian Mays contribution was amazing.
You can pick Rick Wakeman's stylings out of a crowd. Incredible work, so glad I took time to listen - a lifelong Yes fan and stan for Rick Wakeman
The Jedi Master of sonic art, posible Britains finest pianist, and mellotron player, lot better since they digitized them.
You're right about that - I even discovered that way that he was the pianist on Cat Stevens' Morning Has Broken once the piano started!!! No prompting whatsoever, I was hearing it and thought "hey, that's Rick!?!"

Unquestionably the best of all time. When he plays incorporates all the great classic geniuses of the past.
