We need Open Niji, a stable diffusion model trained using the best Niji Journey images.
I am waiting for Waifu Diffusion 1.4.
I’m creating a textual inversion model for it lol, it’ll probably be trained on animefull since niji is anime so….
Background generation is particularly useful for people who produce narrative art on tight deadlines on their own, like manga or webtoon artists. Think about it, it takes hours to draw a nice background and most readers just have a quick glance and keep reading the story. This will save the artists so much time it's not even funny.

Honestly I'm getting overwhelmed by ai in general, since it's getting that good that I can't recognize anymore if it's fake or not. honestly when I see a good illustration, I usually go reverse search it and look everything about the artist, but most of the time the reverse search doesn't work or links me to random ai art.
I'm constantly training my brain now to see even the smallest artifact on every image to understand what's real and what's fake. Oof
I've noticed that the more you look at AI images, you start to get a feel for which ai was used to generate it and sometimes even the model. I remember 3 of my friends had AI art in their profile picture, and I was able to correctly identify that 2 were mj and the last was dall-e. kinda funny lmao

This stuff is cool, I just wish it wasn’t using artist’s work.
I know people say that it’s just like humans using inspiration, but it’s really not. The AI can’t think like we do, it can’t meaningfully change the artwork it draws from in a transformative way. It just replicates patterns of pixels it finds, which leads to overfitting (making an output that is very similar to an input in the training data), especially if you are drawing from a smaller training set like with Dreambooth and textual inversion.
you only overfit if you train too much, and the latest AI research uses methods to counteract it, making it possible to use this little amount of images

If an AI can make a million pictures a second, and only 1 of those actually has an impact on you, guess what; its better than every human artist that ever lived, even with a 99.99999% failure rate
Well actually in those fine-tuning method, the AI isn’t trained from the scratch, instead they take a pretrained model then train it. The AI therefore have some really large “knowledge” from the start. It’s easy for it to learn new concepts with that small amount of images.
Basically, each training step is a time the AI trying to recreate the original image(s). Overfitting only happens when you train it for so many steps that the generated images look like original one so much.

There is a project called EndlessVN or Endless Visual Novel that's pretty much what you're thinking of, AI generated VNs.

but srsly, could someone make/link a tutorial on some of these open-source/free AI waifu programs, I always get so bogged down when someone brings up the cpkt files and whatnot.

@@nicholash1278 because gpt can write stories but they're all generic. also there are shitloads of things to get right on animation that even humans struggle at, and on top of that there's stylisation to the animation

@@markmuller7962 not really it's ironic how the sub despises artist's yet depends on artist's work, I don't agree with many people's hatred towards Ai but I also don't agree with people thinking ai art will bring us utopia. Companies like Stability AI, open Ai and midjourney are heavily trying to phase out writing prompts so there is no job market for someone being good at writing prompts, Open Ai has recently succeeded at this with ChatGPT you can basically interact with it like a real person without having to have to pray to God that the Ai understands what you're writing!
I'm so excited, I'm training AI on my own art and then incorporating what I generate into my new art for some REALLY crazy results

@@thegeekclub8810 this feels like a fair way to use ai. the problem is if you make something cool, anyone else can now almost perfectly replicate it infinitely by training an ai on your work. makes me not want to post anything I do on the internet anymore, if anyone with no skill can just instantly copy me out of spite.

I started to feel empty when I see anime art these days.
Up til now I've only used Anything V3. Nijijourney is an amazing step up!!!!
Emojis were always possible, way before this new model you mentioned at the beginning.
Elysium_Anime_V2 is a "competitor" which is about as good as AnythingV3. I find that it does backgrounds, hands, and lighting better than AnythingV3.
Nijijourney makes impressive images, but I find that it seems difficult to give precise instructions to the AI on what the image should be like.
yeah iirc danbooru was weighted less in favour of being easier to prompt
There's quite a few good models out now. I found one trained on hentai that does wonderful non-hentai images, probably because it understands anatomy so well.
And of course, there's always your own custom blends to make your own style.

Bro, we are really close to creating a fully ai generated visual novels (even the code)
its basically already there. You can do semi stick figures and scribbles as a storyboard and the ai will create pretty good rendered comic art over it.

On one hand, it's amazing how fast this has evolved and the amount of hard work going into the code is impressive
On the other hand, yeah the constant controversy going over the usage of real artist's artwork is definitely something to keep on mind when it comes to this kinda stuff
I've seen many amazing and skilled artist's give up and delete their entire artworks because of AI, we really are heading towards the death of art 10 years from now all art will look and feel the same, there will be no breakthrough from art or unique styles everything will be a derivative and only the rich will afford hand drawn art!

Nijijourney just absolutely broke my mind. These images look better than most human created art by top artists. What the fuck. They are basically perfect? How did they improve that much that fast. Am I the only one who is actually freaking out. Because this is genuinely art that I love to look at while generations before looked incredibly boring to me.

why do people view this as a good thing? I actually enjoy a work of art a lot more if I know it's human made. I might spend several minutes looking at the details. If I notice an image is AI... I quickly swipe past it like it's spam.

So how does one become a pro in the area of generative models? I have quite some experience with such models but work offers in that area still seem to be few and far between. Any advices?
If you aren't an artist with a large portfolio and good ideas you'll have about as much luck finding work using only AI as an artist that can only oilpaint. At best you might find gig jobs. And given the spite in art communities and gaps in law even commission work is hard to get. AI, work wise, is only useable by currently employed artists only to ease some tedious parts in their workflow.

Tell me about it... I know I draw for myself and my own pleasure. But part of the beauty of drawing was having community with other artists. And now I feel like every hack with a keyboard will swamp and try to take over our own circles.
Why do people get excited about stuff like this? Like wow the computer can now do better art than we ever could, why do we even exist as humans anymore? Y'all letting the ai do everything on their own, and pretending it gives you creative freedom, as if it's not doing the opposite.

The good artists are not impressed. The control a great artist has over a pencil sketch and coloring/shading afterwards is always going to be preferable to something randomly put together by an AI.
Only exception is speed, AI is going to be able to make something MEDIOCRE fast which could be useful for brainstorming. But yeah, if you're head explodes seeing this you're a very shit artist, that's all.
