    Go to the parts store. Order a starter for an '88 Gran Fury. Pop it in, 1/2 the size & weight, spins twice as fast at 1/3 the draw

    Hemi sounds interesting as well, but I vote for the Magnum.

    I would love to see an old 340 in it to make it fun and reliable if you are going to drive it to lots of shows. The modern Hemi you mentioned would be cool too. I've never owned a Dodge, but like the engine choices you have for it. 318, 340, 440, all the Hemis...even this slant 6 would be cool if you could pull it and rebuild it to be super dependable. You don't see these cars much anymore. Used to see them at the dragstrips, all modded out. Sweet old soul she is.

    It's great to see an old slant six revived. I had one in my first car, a 1964 Dart. I had pushbutton automatic, and it's a great transmission.

    As a 35 year builder of Valiants and the owner of more than a dozen of these, it’s gonna take $30,000 to make that car worth $12,000…

      We make our money when we buy and don’t ever put more than the car is worth back in it. Our style is drivers; we make them mechanically good, clean them up to the best of ability and send them to a new home. That’s why it’s so important to us to buy them right - 99% of what we buy is typically well under 1k.

      My father in law just passed and left one of these on his property. My wife wants to keep it and would be a fun project just to keep for ourselves.

    Dear Brittany and Daniel,
    It’s good to see how you finally succeed in getting this classic Plymouth running. If I saw it correctly the engine is a straight 6 cylinder what’s at that time a small engine for American built cars. Thanks anyways for sharing the story of the car at your property and also on behalf of WIlleke I look forward to next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands

    I think there have been a lot of modified 340, 318, etc. over the years. It would be great if you could get this salnt six Hyper pak version with two part casting exhaust kits

    Look at other YT video's regarding V8 early A-body swaps. It is not easy. The cars(Valiant/Lacer)were built around the slant 6 until 63.

    My first car was a 62 Valiant 100 4dr. LOL I had some adapters for mine so I could run larger wheels and tires. I think I had some chevy custom wheels on it

      @@ResurrectedGarage I had the car for a while and when I was in college I built up a 225 Slant Six. Bored 100 over and had a cam an special intake, Holley 4 barrel , special oil pump etc. I never did install it the car. I bought a 69 Z/28 and forgot about it. LOL

    I am not sure but I think that a 62 Valiant if it has an original transmission installed it has a rear pump and when you have a driveshaft in it it can be pulled to start Chryslers stopped installing rear pumps after the 65 model year BTW love push button autos!

    • @ResurrectedGarage
      @ResurrectedGarage  9 месяцев назад

      Ah! This one doesn’t have the driveshaft unfortunately but we will check that out.

    Keep it all original with the exception of a four-barrel aluminum intake manifold which you can still buy through speedway motors vintage motors out of Lincoln Nebraska.give them a call. Put a better cam shaft in it . Use the rear differential out of a jeep Cherokee that has posi-trac . " Down in Australia they're doing a lot of cool things with slant 6's. "you might check out that scene for ideas.you can build a real unique fire breather out of that engine and not be a part of the cookie cutter v8 crowd. 😮
