James Hedding No, it really isn‘t, believe me. So many delays, trains who get cancelled, trains not stopping at a certain train station for some reason, air conditioning is out of order in the summer, not enough seats for all the passengers, waste in the trains, filthy toilets and last but not least no free wifi in most trains or very poor WiFi in ICEs.
And it‘s relatively expensive compared to other European countries, unless you book your ticket very early or use a certain offer.

Had extremely often delays, even once the whole railway was not usable for reasons. Needed 4 hours for my way back home by bus. Traveling with DB is for me a nightmare. ticket cost around 90€ per month.

@kenjryker I prefer ICE over the TGV for the simple fact that in ICE you have separate compartments. On some routes the train is long and people are few so you can sometimes have compartments just for yourself. You can adjust the temperature in the room and even turn the light off, which is especially nice to have to look out at night.

Thank you for the video! Very detailed.. I'm taking the ICE from Dresden to Frankfurt Airport in 2 weeks and I was /still am very nervous cuz is my first time traveling alone. I bought the ticket for first class as well thinking it could be better to travel so, but I'm kinda disappointed for the service to be honest... anyways, thank u again !
    P. D ... u r handsome 😄

I travelled with DB first class for more than a year on a weekly basis, and in my opinion, it is not worth the money as it does not come with a significant differentiated product experience, compared to the 2nd class DB. The only difference is the very little additional space...

Dude 60$ for first class ticket...is like 2nd class in Francd really so cheap ! Here in France their first class is like 110-140$ just for one way ticket. LoL and there is no lounge for those Who travel in First class . Even inside the train ... you go to the bar directly if you want to eat or drink and they are so expensive .. ayah ....

    • @MasterChickenYT

Maeva Hatton If you book early you can get tickets as cheap as 19,90€ in second class/29,99€ in first class! Okay, without access to the DB Lounge and no City ticket (free usage of Tram, Underground, Bus and Overground), but that‘s just a 6€ more expensive ticket ^^

      Hey,
In the bistro on the train he was on they have a wide variety of snacks and drinks, but also sandwiches and saussages.
In the Bordrestaurant they offer you Soups, Pasta, Pizza etc. There is a huge amount you can eat and the prices are faire enough if you compare them to the plane.
My favorite for example is the Toasted Ham and cheese baguette for 4,50€.

Sadly the times when companies like Mitropa and DSG were running the restaurant cars on German trains & would offer at least some fresh made food are over. Now it's all (afaik) convenience food like on planes.

So, First Class got you one free coffee in the lounge, comfortable seating with legroom and no limits on the wifi. That seems to be about it, so I hope that the price wasn't that much higher than Second Class. All very nice, but I would have been a bit disappointed. I expect that something called "First Class" is, well, classy. This was just nice, a lukewarm word for unexciting amenities.
