  • Just a couple beginner MTBers exploring trails around the SF BAY AREA. We found Crockett Hills Regional Park on the MTB Project app by REI and road around the 13.1 mile loop. It had a nice mix of flowy singletrack, bumps, jumps, a few burms and a few steep climbs.

Yeah, it’s got some weight to it. I couldn’t find an exact weight online, but my guess is it’s somewhere between 30-35lbs

why are you on such low gears. It will be easier if you put you bike on gears 2 and 3-5. You wont have to pedal so much. I personally keep my mountain bike's gears on 2 and 5.

Considering the relatively low price, is the bike worth it, how did it feel?

Eric Grivas for $500, I think it is. It’s my first bike so I know it’ll get beat up pretty quick. It feels great on faster XC trails vs. the technical rocky and twisty stuff but it can manage if you do find yourself in those trails. The Shimano disc breaks work great. Downsides: 1) The cassette doesn’t seem to handle high torque very well during steep climbs. 2) The rear suspension is way too bouncy if you loosen it. Overall a great bike to learn how to ride on and to learn how to maintain. Hope that helps!

Jeremy's Trail Tracks thanks for the info. My bro is looking into his first full sus bike but he’s on a budget. He had a hard tail that was stolen yesterday. He doesn’t plan on riding techie trails, more like flow trails and fireroads more than anything else. I saw a bike online called gravity fsx 1.0. That’s how I found your video. Looks like he’ll be getting that one! Thanks again! Looks like you live in the bay, let’s ride sometime!

@@esenshyal Oh yeah it'll work great on those trails! For sure, we should ride. Looks like you have vids on some bay area trails that I wanna try too. I'll check those out!

Eric Grivas thanks for the invite! I’ll be out of town until the first week of July. DM me on my IG and we can set something up when I get back. @jeremy.lacsa
