What’s the irony I work out that way and I pass your car every morning going toward Oakland mills road! And I also happen to have a black 2013 srt8 6.4 and it’s currently getting cammed and some other goodies we should def pop out soon. It’s rare to see our cars in the 6.4 hemi trim

How are the shifts? Are they pretty firm? Test drove one the other day and it shifted kinda hard. Wasn’t sure if it was normal or not. Sweet car man!
Thanks! It’s pretty smooth in Normal Mode. Track Mode is where it shifts the hardest. Kinda jolts you in your seat from 1st to 2nd gear🔥
they're supposed to be a bit hard in track mode and sport mode. the tranny is basically slamming into gear. it is not an issue at all since that's how it was designed and programmed.

I found it in Virginia, cost $24k after negotiating. Pitch Black looks amazing on these cars!

Is the transmission on the newer models like a big upgrade or not? Cuss I'm deciding whether to buy a SRT8 or 2019 Charger RT.
From what I’ve heard they’re pretty good. Haven’t gotten behind the wheel of one just yet though.
I just got my SRT8 2 weeks ago with 1 owner and no accidents...she shifts great and growls nice on highway. If you want a quieter ride then get the new 8 speed, just know that the R/T still wouldn’t keep up with the srt8 (which I’m pretty sure you know lol)
Yeah I had a newer RT mess with me a while back. They tried 😂
So I found out the 5 speed is better for racing due to longer gear spacing. The 8 speed is just better for fuel economy

SWEET charger man .. i have one myself .. a 2014 dodge charger srt8 … but it overheated and costed 5000$ to fix …. It happened again ! And costed 2000$ to fix … what do u think is the problem? Of it happening AGAIN … im boutta sell my car .. pls help
Not sure what it could be. I had an overheating issue a while back. Changed the thermostat, water pump, and checked head gaskets. Haven’t had a problem since.
I’m deciding between this and a 2015+ charger rt. What would u recommend more and hows the gas mileage on the srt8
I love the SRT8 compared to a 2015+ for the body style. Most of the tech is very similar, although I don’t have Apple CarPlay or the 8spd Auto. Right now I average around 14mpg in the city, and I’ve squeezed out 30mpg on the highway. If you can get passed missing out on some goodies like that, I’d say SRT, but they’re a little hard to come by in terms of mileage and quality. I found this one with 47k miles, compared to 68k or higher for the same year and price range.
Autogera thanks for the reply. I’m 18 rn and i have a v6 2011 charger and ive been saving up money for a new whip. I’m leaning more towards the srt but I’m just worried about the gas mileage because i would be daily driving it. 30 miles on the highway isnt bad and I’m mostly on the highway so i might end up getting that
Gas mileage can be a kicker bro. SRT8 takes 91 Octane or higher, where I live, it’s like $2.69/gallon which takes $50-ish to fill up. I’m at the gas station almost twice a week. But damn I’d be a liar if I didn’t say you definitely get your smiles worth per gallon 😂

You can’t go wrong with one of these bro. 8 speed trans gets you better gas mileage and newer models have a negligible 15hp more. But the tech is relatively the same across the board. Plus, I think these look more aggressive 🔥

Yeah something about the srt8 does look more aggressive and mean then the scat the main thing was I thought the 5 speed was a lot slower then the 8 speed
From what I understand, the 8 speed does shift quicker. But the 5 speeds longer gears means you can pull out on the long run. Especially if you boost from my understanding. I’d have to do more research in terms of actual speed but I see a lot of people say the 8’s just get better gas mileage.

Depends on the price but these engines are supposed to last 250k miles if maintained pretty well
Should I buy a 2012 dodge charger srt8 or buy a 2017 dodge charger rt???
I would do some research on both. While the body styles are different and similar interior, you would get a 6.4L Hemi with 470hp and a 5spd auto. The 2017 RT would be a 5.7L Hemi with 375hp, more updated tech and an 8spd auto. From personal experience, the SRT8 is a fantastic car with plenty of bang for your buck. I’ll do a walkthrough of my SRT8 pretty soon that covers the features on these cars. Hopefully that helps, thanks for stopping by 🔥
@@Autogera thanks yeah I kinda want the srt8 because it does have a lot of the fancy tech with heated seats and wheel and fancy cupholders it's just my dad wants me to get the 2017 rt because he believes the 2012 srt8 value will go down in the future while 2017 rt will hold its value up a little bit longer so i don't know i feel like the srt8 should hold its value because it has a 6.4L
@@Autogera the bottom line is my dad doesn't want me to spend 20k+ on a car from 2012 but he said it's my money so he said do whatever you want it's just he's kinda making me feel guilty about it, again I just love the srt8 tho it has tech and a powerful engine
I got my 13’ SRT8 for $27k with 47k miles on it. And I’ve seen some as high as mid $30’s with 60k miles on them. As far as RT’s go, they’re around $30k around my area. I feel like they hold their value fairly well for being almost decade old cars. Go with your gut 💯

@@1hundredallday I bought one last year. Had 80k on it. Dealership screwed me with the interest and payment but I was dumb and got it anyways. Sold it couple months later. Fast forward a year later I have money in the bank . Don’t rush the process I wouldn’t buy a car like
