Not turning lights off during a pursuit is a legitimate policy, but I agree that she should have handled it better. It is also a bit of a grey area as Snr. Officer Bones stated: "I do it all the time but it is against policy." So even Snr officers ignore that policy often.
This is the second time she has yelled at an officer in front of others(or over radio) about something that is NOT A WRITTEN SOP. If it was written and official, it would be more understandable because officers should be aware of it, but it simply isnt a rule.
@@Petro250that’s why he’s been on this server for years as a cop and is aware there are special circumstances in which they do. You have to be aware of what’s allowed for RP to continue. Same with scuff on criminals side, they’re allowed to get in another car etc.

CVC Section 21056, "Section 21055 does not relieve the driver of a vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the highway, nor protect him from the consequences of an arbitrary exercise of the privileges granted in that section." You're right per section 21055 but in the case of Brian Knight, his judgement to turn off the lights temporarily to avoid accidents is smarter than ignoring the fact that in this game the local "will" crash into his vehicle, which might cause him to crash into a civ's car, resulting in injury or death as if that happens, he might be in even more trouble than mere traffic violation. If conditions of section 21055 is to be followed strictly in GTARP, if a crim drives into traffic, you might as well call the pursuit off.
Actively sabotaging the PD in chases since locals literally swerve infront of PD cars with sirens on seems like a great way to help them catch the criminals right?

They base the SOPs and OOC server rules on player experience and engagement. If the sirens truly make civs try to kill you, its sensible that theyd turn them off and on throughout chases. It's not "esports," its a content over realism server. Koil literally had like 1000 rants in 3.0 about people complaining about content/rp experience over realism complaints. People watch NoPixel for the content variants of fun, not the realism.

I don't think he wants it. It's a lot of responsibility, especially when the server just reset. Mehdi seems like he just likes to do his own thing; he sticks to one character for a long time and then switches after a while. imo if he pick that position too early, you won't see brian knight that often for after a few months. which is kind of bad for a captain position, which really requires you to invest more time in it
It's interesting that the least experienced on how things work are the ones in power. Cpt Ruth and this Senior that Cpt Ruth promoted. Why are they in power when they have no experience or knowledge? They are not qualified, there is other people in pd that is more qualified for their roles. Cpt Ruth is so bad at her job I don't think she should be a cop at all but definitely not a captain. This Senior could probably be a ok cadet or cop but definitely not a senior. She actually seem to be able to understand, listen and learn some things, take accountability, admit some fault and apologise, even if it was only a little bit of accountability. But compared to the officers they fired, and I count Cornwood to them because the only reason he didn't get fired was because the Mayor discalified Ruth's vote and the Mayor voted in her place, for Cpt Slacks solution. So without the Mayor stepping in Cornwood would been fired as well. Now Cornwood is just demoted to the very bottom but he is still a cop. If you compare the punishments and firing of Johnson, Shizty and Cornwood this senior cop should definitely be fired as well. I personally think she should be suspended for a couple of days and demoted not fired but not even that is happening.
