Why does FIS force to use skis like in the eighties ? Turn radius 30 meters and all these GS runs look like it is 1980 all over again ? Parallel turns and little to no carving on the more difficult gates ? Makes no sense to me whatsoever...

It’s better than the 35m radius skis they were using. As has been pointed out, the studies FIS used to justify longer radii skis were probably flawed. It would be nice if they started allowing 25m skis though.
